Two players had reached the river of a board reading and one of them, Kitty Kuo, was facing a bet of 8,500.
Kuo looked over at her opponent, then at his stack which had just over 15,000 left in it. She then pointed at the river card accusingly before finally deciding to toss out the calling chips and wait for her opponent to turn over his which was no good against the of Kuo.
Toby Lewis and Fabian Quoss were engaged in a hand and looked down at a completed board of . With right around 20,000 already in the middle, Lewis checked his action over to Quoss. Quoss cut out a bet of 8,800 and sent Lewis deep into the tank.
Roughly two minutes passed while Lewis pondered his action. Ultimately, Lewis opted to kick his cards into the muck and Quoss let out a grin as he was pushed the pot. With this win, his stack is up to about 38,000.
Mike McDonald opened the action under the gun and found opponent in Billy Argyros in late position and Yang Wang in the big blind.
The flop was checked and on the turn card Wang bet out 3,500. McDonald gave him his trademark hard stare and placed out the calling chips carefully. The river card completed the board and Wang went for a bet of 6,550. More staring from McDonald which resulted in a call and a muck after Wang showed his flopped trips .
The player under the gun opened with a raise to 1,000 and found calls from Aliaksei Boika in middle position, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier in the cutoff, the player on the button and the player in the big blind.
The five players saw a flop of fall. There were two checks over to Boika who fired out 1,700. Grospellier flatted and the three other players let their hands go. The hit the felt on the turn and Boika slowed with a check. Grospellier reached for chips and moved 3,600 past the betting line. Boika called to see a river.
The dealer produced the on the river, pairing the board. Boika checked for a second time and Grospellier bet 8,800. Boika went deep into the tank, thinking for about two minutes before announcing that he was all in. The raise was for well over 28,000 total and Grospellier quickly called for Boika's tournament life.
Boika showed for deuces full of kings, but was ultimately bested by Grospellier's for fives full of kings. Grospellier scored the knockout and now has about 78,000 to his name.
Rory Young is sitting with a frightening amount of chips for this stage of the tournament, around 130,000 and the rest of his table doesn’t look to happy about it. Olivier Busquet to his right folded before Young opened the pot for 600 and got calls from the player on the button and the big blind.
A flop of and a continuation bet of 700 from Young saw his opponents surrender their cards with a glance heavenwards as Young wielded his stack like a club.
