Ivan Tan Eliminated in 20th Place (US$6,000)

Ivan Tan
Ivan Tan
We didn't see the action due to a flurry of bust-outs but we did see Ivan Tan exiting the tournament floor. A quick check with the tournament staff confirmed that he busted in 20th place, earning $6,000. A quick check with other members of the pool shows that he got his chips in the middle with {K-?} {J-?} against Neil Arce's pocket fours. Arce made a set on the {6-?} {4-?} {8-?} flop, then caught running deuces for a full house.

Bryan Huang eliminated in 21st Place
Steven Yea made it 10,000 from the cutoff and Bryan Huang moved all in from the big blind; Yea made the call.

Yea: {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Huang: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

The flop put Yea way out in front landing {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, however Huang would find the dream card on the turn when the {K-Spades} landed to leave him with a gut-shot straight draw and flush-draw.

For Huang the river would not make his hand landing the {9-Clubs} to see him head to the rail in 21st place for a US$6,000 payday, as Yea moved up to 327,000 in chips.

Pedley Doubles

On his way to back to back Asian Poker Tour Final Tables!
On his way to back to back Asian Poker Tour Final Tables!
Michael Pedley limped the button and Norihito Suzuki called out of the small blind as Susumu Toge checked his option.

The blinds checked the action over to Pedley who fired out 9,000 on a flop of {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and both players called. When the turn of the {9-Diamonds} landed all three players checked to see the {Q-Diamonds} land on the river.

Pedley sat in the tank for over a minute before moving all in for his last 39,000. Suzuki passed and Toge tanked for two minutes before making the call. Pedley jumped out of his chair slammed down his {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and screamed, "Quads baby!" as he ran over to good mate Nik Lackovic and high-fived him loud enough to echo through the Dusit Thani Ballroom.

Pedley raked in the pot sending him to over 110,000 in chips as Toge was left with a little over 100,000 in chips.

Choi Byung Kyoo Eliminated in 22nd Place ($6,000)

The dam has surely burst now. With the passing of the money bubble, the remaining players seem very willing to get their chips in the middle. Of course, it doesn't help to be dealt ace-king when another player is holding pocket aces. That's what happened to Choi Byung Kyoo. He was dealt ace-king against Casey Kastle's pocket aces. Kastle pushed the action preflop and induced Kyoo to commit his whole stack.

The board bricked out, giving Kastle the pot. He's up to 348,500. Kyoo will collect $6,000 in prize money.

Diamonds for Suzuki

Norihito Suzuki opened to 10,000 from late position and Steve Sung defended out of the small blind.

Sung check-called 17,000 before both players checked the turn to arrive at a board of {2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Sung led 25,000 and Suzuki instantly made the call and tabled {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

WIth the table in a look of confusion, Suzuki raked in the pot sending him to 175,000 in chips, as Sung slumped to 50,000 in chips.

Scott's Bluff Goes Awry

There were 27,000 chips in the pot preflop in a hand contested between Andrew Scott and Kim Tae Hyung. Hyung checked a flop of {9-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {J-Hearts}, then called a bet of 13,000 from Scott. On the turn {4-Spades}, Hyung checked again. Scott made it 26,000 and was called a second time.

The river came down {2-Clubs}. Hyung checked for the third street in a row, prompting Scott to move all in for 98,500.

"Why so much?" asked Hyung. He peeked back at his cards and then said, "Ok, I call."

"Ace high," said Scott. He turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. Hyung tabled {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} for top pair and the winner. When the stacks were counted down, Scott was left with 16,000. Hyung is now on 270,000.
