Lee Nelson has recovered some chips in a recent round of Razz. As the cards were dealt Nelson completed, Sergey Rybachenko called before Tino Lechich raised. Nelson reraised once again and both opponents called.
Nelson then led the betting on fourth as Rybachenko folded. Lechich called and led on fifth street, before Nelson took over again on sixth and seventh. Lechich called him down and here are their boards:
Nelson: () ()
Lechich: () ()
Nelson's seven-low took it down as Lechich could only muster up an eight-low. Nelson is now up to 44,000.
In interesting Razz hand has seen a surprised Tino Lechich collect the pot to leave Russian Sergey Rybachenko on life support.
Lee Nelson and Rybachenko were the aggressors with Lechich hanging on for the ride until the river was checked down.
Nelson: () ()
Rybachenko: () (X)
Lechich: () ()
Nelson double paired to leave himself with a queen-low, as Rybanchenko made a ten-low. Lechich casually revealed his cards and discovered his nine-low was good!
Tino Lechich has taken another nice pot to this time leave David Bach in trouble. After Bach bet sixth street, Lechich raised and Bach called, before calling once again on the river.
Lechich: () ()
Bach: (X-X) (X)
Lechich's full house was too good as Bach mucked. Bach is down to 4,800 with Lechich now up over 100,000 as he claims the chip lead.
The Alexander Kostritsyn Fan Club appear to have arrived in Melbourne. Playing on the feature table, every time Kostritsyn takes down a pot, the two railbirds give him a nice little round of applause and congratulate him in some broken English.
It's a little too early for congratulations but Kostritsyn has made a nice comeback in this tournament after being down as the short stack in the early goings.
David Bach has been eliminated during a recent Stud hand against Lee Nelson. Bach's last chips were in the pot by fourth street with the boards running out as follows:
Bach: () ()
Nelson: () ()
Bach couldn't improve on his pair of eights as Nelson made three pair, the best two of which were aces over kings. Nelson is up to 30,000 with Bach left to quietly exit the Crown Poker Room.
Sergey Rybachenko is next to depart after he called bets from Tino Lechich before being all in by sixth street. The boards were:
Rybachenko: () ()
Lechich: () ()
The giant-killing run of Lechich continues to end Rybachenko's run in 10th place. With that elimination we are now on the bubble of the final table, however only the top five players will be paid.
