Ouch!

Barry Woods: 2 def. Vanessa Selbst: 0

The money was all in on a flop that read {2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and we got to the feature table as the cards were tabled:

Woods: {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Selbst: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Selbst was in great shape to double up but looked worried then the {k-Diamonds} spiked on the turn, giving Woods some hope to bust her out on the river with the case king, any eight or any ...

... yep, you guessed it, any two. Which came down on the river in the form of the {2-Clubs}, thus eliminating Selbst in seventh place.

"Okay, I'm going to go and shoot myself now," joked Selbst after shaking hands with Woods, who will now have to wait for the winner of the rubber between Andrew Lichtenberger and Martin Gudvangen.

Selbst Can't Break Back Yet

Barry Woods: 1 vs. Vanessa Selbst: 0

Despite taking an early chip lead in their second match, Selbst has had all the hard work undone and it's back to all square with her battle against Woods.

On a board of {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Woods moved all of it into the middle and Selbst snap-called, tabling {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for trip kings.

However Woods rolled up {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped full house! Crippled down to around 4,000 in chips, Selbst moved all in a short time later on a flop of {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs} with {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

To her relief, she had managed to strike it lucky against Woods' {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and she doubled up after the turn and river ran out {3-Hearts}, {4-Diamonds}.

McMurphy in Straight Sets

Kyle McMurphy: 2 def. Brian Roberts: 0

Roberts moved the last of his money into the middle holding {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} preflop, but McMurphy woke up with {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The board was spread {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}; both players paired but Roberts was no good - he's going home in eighth place and McMurphy will meet either Andrew Seidman or Darren Woods in the semi-final!

The Other Woods is 1-Up

Darren Woods: 1 vs. Andrew Seidman: 0

The money was all in the middle preflop and we got there as the cards were tabled:

Seidman: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Woods: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Woods took the lead on the flop of {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} and stayed there as the turn and river ran out {j-Spades}, {10-Clubs}.

It's going to be tough work for the DeucesCracked crew as both the Woodses now have a 1-0 advantage in their respective matches.

Lichtenberger Takes First Honours

Andrew Lichtenberger: 1 vs. Martin Gudvangen: 0

Lichtenberger managed to wrestle the chips back from Gudvangen after his {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} held up on a board of {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} against Gudvangen's {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Left with only a handful of chips, Gudvangen moved them into the middle a short time later with {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Lichtenberger called, tabling {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and the board ran out {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} to give Lichtenberger the first game.

Still Nil

Darren Woods: 0 vs. Andrew Seidman: 0

Seidman looked in strife when he moved the last of his money in the middle with {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} against Woods' {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} but managed to double up after hitting on the flop of {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

The turn and river ran out {4-Diamonds}, {4-Spades} and the first leg of their quarter final match continues.

Doubled Up Twice, Still Deadlocked

Andrew Lichtenberger: 0 vs. Martin Gudvangen: 0

Lichtenberger was as low as 2,400 but has managed to double up twice against Gudvangen.

In the first hand Lichtenberger got the last of his chips in with {k-Spades}{j-Spades} preflop and held up against Gudvangen's {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} when the board was spread {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Lichtenberger made it all square a few hands later; his {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} won the flip against Gudvangen's {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} when the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

I'm Just Wild About Barry

Barry Woods: 1 vs. Vanessa Selbst: 0

The money was all in preflop between Selbst and Woods and we caught the action as the cards were tabled:

Woods: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Selbst: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} and Woods draws first blood on the feature table.

Advantage McMurphy

Kyle McMurphy: 1 vs. Brian Roberts: 0

We caught the action on a board that read {7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}; McMurphy checked to Roberts who led out for 2,050 into a pot worth around 3,000 in chips.

McMaster called, then checked when the dealer produced the {3-Spades} on the river. Roberts deliberated, then moved the rest of his stack into the middle.

McMurphy snap-called, tabling {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Brown looked sick, rolling up {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Brown was covered by only 50 in chips and it's 1-0 to McMurphy!

How it Works

All of today's finals matches consist of 20 six minute levels, with the current quarter final matches and semi finals giving each player a 10,000 start bank.

The final match and third-place playoff will feature a 20,000 start bank.
