Karamalikis Busts Hansen In Biggest Pot So Far

Gus Gutted.
Gus Gutted.
Gus Hansen raised to 25,000 from UTG and Barry Greenstein made the call from the button. Jonathan Karamalikis reraised to 85,000 from the small blind. Hansen called and Greenstein folded.

The flop came out {A-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Spades}, Karamalikis bet 50,000 and Hansen made it 100,000 to which the Aussie youngster moved all-in for 261,000 total.

Hansen tanked, using both his extra 30 second timeouts. With a few seconds left, Hansen made the call with {A-?} {9-?} behind to Karamalikis' {A-?} {Q-?}. The turn {K-Diamonds} offered Hansen some possible split outs but the river {7-Spades} gave the pot to the Australian, eliminating the Dane from the tournament.

We have an update on Phil Ivey...

Ivey raised to 29,000 from the small blind and Tony G called from the big blind. The flop came down {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} and Ivey bet 30,000. Tony G folded and Ivey raked the pot.

It's not much, but this is the first hand Ivey has played in a very long time. He's up to 175,000 after taking down this pot.

Greenstein Gaining Ground

Jonanthan Karamalikis raised again and Barry Greenstein made the call in the big blind.

Both players checked the {2-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {10-Clubs} flop, before Greenstein fired 45,000 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. Karamalikis called and then called 85,000 on the {6-Hearts} river. Greenstein flipping {8-Spades} {7-Spades} for a rivered straight, beating Karamalikis' {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}.

Kagawa Eliminated at the Hands of Ivey

Kagawa no more
Kagawa no more
Here's some more Phil Ivey action for you. Just as he wasn't looking interested at all in playing poker, he's stormed back by taking down a few pots. This one here was a big one.

Ivey raised to 25,000 and Masa Kagawa reraised from the big blind to 85,000. Ivey potted to put Kagawa all in and Kagawa made the quick call for all of his chips.

Ivey tabled a dominated {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades} to Kagawa's {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} and put Ivey in the lead with a pair of nines. The turn was the {3-Clubs} and then the river sealed thing with the {6-Diamonds}. Kagawa was eliminated on the hand and Ivey moved up to 290,000.

If you remember back to the World Series of Poker Main Event final table, Ivey busted after getting all in with {A-?} {K-?} to Darvin Moon's {A-?} {Q-?}. Moon spiked a queen and sent Ivey to the rail. This time, it was Ivey on the positive side of a three-outer.
