Mizzi Goes Runner Runner to Double

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Darko Balaban opened to 600 under the gun and found three callers; two of which were Sorel Mizzi and Bruno Portaro from the hi-jack and big blind.

The flop of {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} saw Mizzi fire out a bet of 1,600 only to have the unknown player bump it to 3,600. Mizzi moved all in for roughly his last 8,000 and his opponent made the call.

Mizzi: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The turn landed the {A-Hearts} and the river the {7-Spades} to see Mizzi make a backdoor full house to double through to 18,000.

"Nice catch!" announced Portaro.

"That's how you get third in these things!" added Mizzi in reference to his visit to the final table last year.

Moussa Tripped Up and Out

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Andrew Feldman opened to 525 from the hi-jack only to have George Moussa move all in from the cutoff for 3,175.

Feldman made the call holding {K-Spades}{10-Spades} to be a slight dog against Moussa's {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The board ran out {4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs} to see Feldman flop trips to bust Australian tournament circuit regular Moussa.

Steicke committed his final 2,925 and his opponent made the call.

Steicke: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}

The river landed the {2-Diamonds} to ensure Steicke the double to roughly 12,000 in chips.

Mizzi Pushes Portaro Out

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

With the board reading {6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{A-Spades}, Bruno Portaro led out from the small blind with a bet of 3,700 only to have Sorel Mizzi move all in for 14,875.

"I call, you'll have me beat. I fold you'll show me a bluff. You're a nice guy, tell me what to do?" asked Portaro.

A stone-faced Mizzi sat there emotionless as Portaro eventually folded while slipping to 14,000. Mizzi is now up to 27,000.

Suchanek Surrenders

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

With a sizeable pot sitting next to the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} board, Jann Suchanek pushed his final 9,225 into the middle.

His opponent deliberated for a few moments before making the call to put Suchanek at risk.

Suchanek: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The river landed the {8-Spades} and Suchanek was forced to wave goodbye to the tournament.
