River Six Does in Schmidt

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Adam Schmidt (Day 2) - Eliminated
Adam Schmidt (Day 2) - Eliminated

David Garcia and Adam Schmidt were heads up on a board of {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Schmidt tossed out a bet, and Garcia moved all in. Schmidt called with {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for trip jacks, but they were no good against Garcia's {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a rivered full house.

The stacks were counted down, and Garcia had Schmidt out-chipped by a few thousand, sending him to the rail.

Krost Takes Care of McCorkell

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Craig McCorkell, who was the short stack on the money bubble, decided it was time to go with the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and was at risk against the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} of 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event champ Tyron Krost, who got into this event for free after winning last year's Tournament of Champions.

According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, McCorkell had a 52.56% chance of surviving the hand, but even though the {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{J-Clubs} flop didn't hit Krost directly, it made him a 52.63% favorite by giving him a flush draw to go with his overs. The {7-Diamonds} turn gave McCorkell back the lead and made him a 68.18% favorite, but the {3-Clubs} spiked on the river to give Krost the flush and the win.

Costa Silva Busts

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Tony Da Costa Silva was all in preflop for his last 30,000 or so holding {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and Ang Pangleng had him at risk with {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}, giving Pangleng a gutshot straight draw, and the {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave him extra outs to make a flush. The {q-Diamonds} completed the board. giving Pangleng said flush, and eliminating Costa Silva.

Collado on Fire; Cracks Aces to Eliminate O'Brien

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

To say Jan Collado is on a heater would be an understatement. That fact was evidenced by a hand that just played out between him and Paul O'Brien.

We're not sure of the betting, but we do know that O'Brien got his stack of 210,000 all in preflop holding {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and was dominating the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} of Collado. Like we said, the young German is running hot and continued to do so as the flop came down with a queen in the window... {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The table reacted in disbelief while O'Brien was clearly stunned.

The {J-Hearts} turn gave O'Brien some added outs as a king would make him a straight, but it wasn't in the cards as the {5-Clubs} peeled off. O'Brien left the tournament floor in a bit of a daze while Collado was all smile as he chipped up to 1 million.

Kuo Doubles Through Ivey

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Phil Ivey and Kitty Kuo were heads up on a flop of {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Spades}. Kuo led out for 13,000, Ivey raised to 42,000, and Kuo put in a third bet, making in 90,000.

Ivey tanked for a bit, then slid forward all of his brown T25,000 chips. Kuo called all-in for around 175,000.

Ivey: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Kuo: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Kuo had flopped a flush, but wasn't out of the woods quite yet. The dealer burned a card, then delivered the {a-Hearts} on the turn. The rail let out an excited groan — Ivey could eliminate Kuo with an ace or jack on the river.

The river was the {7-Spades} however, and at the site of it, Kuo giggled. The dealer let out a squeal as well, prompting Ivey to turn to his friend Patrik Antonius with a look of distaste on his face.

Kuo doubled to 380,000 chips, while Ivey dropped to 250,000.
