Sequenzia Doubles Through Corning

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Daniel Sequenzia had lost a bigger pot to chip leader Daniel Demicki before and then faced a raise to 18,000 by Douglas Corning. Out of the big blind, Sequenzia announced a pot-sized raise to 58,000 with 11,000 behind and Corning put him in.

Sequenzia: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Corning: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
The board {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} gave Sequenzia a flush and he doubled up.

Geisel Gets Some

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Fabian Geisel defended his big blind against a raise by chip leader Daniel Demicki and bet the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} turn for 25,000. Demicki called and they checked down the {6-Spades} river. Geisel flashed the {10-Spades} first, his opponent mucked, then flipped over {K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} as well.

One hand later, Geisel won a small pot in a battle of the blinds with aces and fours versus Michael Tomeny. The latter is down to 10 big blinds.

Demicki Leading; Higgs Lost in Space

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Daniel Demicki has increased his lead and now boasts double as many chips as Douglas Corning in second place. Sam Higgs is on the best way there as well despite just being "lost in space."

Fabian Geisel raised to 20,000 from the button and Higgs defended. On the flop, the shot clock timer ran out on Higgs who thought his opponent was first to act with the button between Corning and Geisel. He was then auto-checked on the flop {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Geisel checked behind. On the {9-Spades} turn, Higgs bet the pot for 44,000 and his opponent folded.

"I have a straight. Double six, five, eight," Higgs announced to add to the confusion.

Hearts Are Live for Higgs

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

From the button, Michael Tomeny raised to 20,000 and Sam Higgs moved all in for 62,000 from one seat over. Tomeny pushed forward his stack as well and Higgs said "let's see if my jacks hold up. Jacks and hearts are live."

Higgs: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Tomeny: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The flop {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} was a great one for the Aussie and he locked up the win after the {J-Diamonds} turn, making the {6-Clubs} on the river a formality.

Corning Gives Up Twice

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

On the three-way flop of {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Douglas Corning bet 20,000 and Michael Tomeny asked for the size of the pot before making it 105,000 to go. Daniel Sequenzia quickly folded, as did Corning.

One hand later, Corning raised to 14,000 from under the gun and was called by Sequenzia and Daniel Domecki in the blinds. The trio checked through the board {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} entirely and Corning announced aces, showing three aces in his hand. Domecki flipped over {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and that won the pot with a set of eights.

Straight for Tomeny

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Fabian Geisel limped in from the button and Michael Tomeny called, Sam Higgs checked in the big blind. On the flop {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, all three players checked. Tomeny then bet the {J-Hearts} turn for 18,000 to enforce two folds, flashing {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for a straight. Tomeny has become the second-biggest stack by now and the action continues fast-paced.
