Borgata Poker Room
Borgata Poker Room

The fabulous Borgata is an iconic hotel and casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and one of the top gambling destinations in the U.S. for over 40 years. At this luxurious high-rise resort, you'll find one of the top poker rooms not only in town, but in all of the Northeast and United States. MGM Resorts, based out of Las Vegas, owns the property, which boasts 52 card tables, most in Atlantic City.

Borgata offers a plethora of card games inside the always crowded casino, both cash games and tournaments. Many players outside of the area know of the poker room for hosting the Borgata Poker Open and Borgata Winter Poker Open. Both events appear as part of the famous World Poker Tour, one of the most prestigious poker tours in the world.

Cash games are also a big deal at the Borgata. Players from New Jersey, New York, and other nearby states in the Northeast flock to the casino to play low, mid, and high stakes poker. You'll find a wide mix of games, ranging from $1/$3 no-limit hold'em on up to $10/$25, and sometimes higher if the poker room has interest to spread a game. Numerous pot-limit Omaha, spread limit, limit, and mixed limit games are also available most days, especially on the weekends.

McKeehen Falls to Two Flushes

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Joe McKeehen
Joe McKeehen

Joe McKeehen was in position in a heads-up pot against two opponents, including Chi Kang, on a board of {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Both players checked on the turn and McKeehen bet 7,500. Both opponents called. The river brought the {a-Hearts} and Kang moved all in for 14,300. McKeehen was next to act and asked for a count before calling off with slightly less, which sent the third player in the hand into the tank.

"I've got a flush, guys," he groaned. "I call."

Kang showed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the nut flush and McKeehen flashed his cards before tossing them into the muck. The third player in the hand showed {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a smaller flush.

Incredibly, seated to the immediate right of the 2015 WSOP Main Event champ was the only other world champion in the room, 2013 winner Ryan Riess.

Altman Bluffs Three Streets

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Brian Altman opened to 1,600 on the button and David Stevens called in the small blind, while the big blind also came along.

Stevens and the big blind checked on the flop of {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Altman bet 1,300. Both opponents called. Both opponents checked again on the {8-Diamonds} turn and Altman sized up to 4,500. Only Stevens called.

Stevens checked a third time on the {3-Spades} river and Altman sat still for over a minute before betting about 23,000 with less than that in the pot. Stevens gave it some thought and called.

Altman showed {a-Hearts}{2-Spades} for just ace-high and Stevens turned over the winner with {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} for top pair.

Eights Again for Zack

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Dan Zack was against an all-in opponent on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and the three-time bracelet winner had his opponent covered.

Opponent: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Dan Zack: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Zack had flopped a set of eights to be far in front of the overpair of his opponent and nothing changed on the {7-Clubs}{q-Spades} runout to mark the opponent's elimination.

Lin Raises Flop

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Ren Lin was on the button in a heads-up pot against the cutoff on a flop of {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

The cutoff bet 1,200 on the flop and Lin raised to 3,500. The cutoff gave it some thought and folded.

"You had the best hand there. I'm pretty sure," the opponent told Lin.
