Steven McKuin has taken over the chip lead with a series of big pots and eliminations since the break, leaving Jason Fitzpatrick chasing him down for what was once his Day 1a chip lead.
In a recent pot, Drake Roetker, who is now battling a short stack raised to 8,000 in middle position and got three-bet to 28,000 by Fitzpatrick. Roetker called for just under half of his remaining stack.
On the 8♦6♦6♣ flop, Roetker checked and Fitzpatrick bet the pot, which would be an all-in call for Roetker is he chose to do so.
Roetker instead quickly folded to leave himself hope of surviving until the final five, who will move on to Day 2 in the money.
Meanwhile, Thai Ha was recently eliminated, leaving ten players in the field, meaning the next elimination will send players to the final table of play.

Picking action up on the flop with 13,000 in the pot and a board of K♥10♠2♦, Thai Ha checked his small blind to Matthew Liu who bet 5,000 from the button.
Ha called and the duo proceeded to check the 8♣ turn.
On the 10♦ river, after a final check from Ha, Liu bet 21,000 which got a snap-call from Ha.
Liu rolled over 10♣8♦6♦6♣ for a full house of tens over eights.
Ha mucked his hand and now needs to do some work to give himself a chance moving on to Day 2 for a shot at a second title this series.
Meanwhile at the other table, Kaleb Harwell was eliminated to trim the field to 11 players.

Following the completion of Level 8, just 16 players remain for the second break of the day.
When they return in 15 minutes, registration in Day 1a will be closed.
With about 40,000 in the middle on a completed board of 7♠4♠3♥8♥3♣, Danny Chang bet 13,000 from under the gun against Michael Kuney in the cutoff.
Kuney cut out calling chips and thought about his decision for a bit before electing to call.
"Good call," complimented Chang who reluctantly showed the 8♠ for a pair of eights.
Kuney showed A♦7♦XxXx and told Chang that was it, just a pair of sevens.
Chang showed the rest of his hand, J♣9♠8♠6♥ and his lone pair of eights was good enough to take the pot as Kuney gathered his pair of sevens and sent them to the muck.
