Locals Update

How are the Hungarians doing?

Denes Kalo has around 10,000. Tibor Tolani is up to 12,000.

Richard Toth is on life support and down to his last 2,000. Toth took a big hit. He held J-8 and got it all in on a board of {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {8-Spades} . He was up against Q-J and a set of eights. Toth's hand did not improve on the river and he was left with just 2,000.

Elky and Lellouche

Although some of the French players took a hit during the early levels, a couple of other French players are doing quite well. Elky doubled up before the break and is currently sitting on 18,000. Anthony Lellouche is still over 20,000. I saw him lay down a hand. He opened with a raise. A player reraised all in. A second player shoved as well. Lellouche tanked for a moment before he folded. He would have been up against pocket nines and Big Slick. He said that he folded a pair.

Kara Scott Down to 4,800

But a few of Ricky's poker-themed tattoos
But a few of Ricky's poker-themed tattoos
Kara Scott continues to have some rather poor luck. This time she raised from the cutoff, only for an awesomely tattooed Hungarian player, who wishes to be known only as "Ricky", to move all in from the big blind for 2,300. After some consideration, and making Ricky promise that he'd show if she folded, she did indeed pass and was rewarded by Ricky showing her {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}.She turned over the inferior {A-Clubs} {J-Spades}.

Not a Good Day for the French and/or Belgian

Out
Out
While much of yesterday's action was dominated by Arnaud Mattern and Ludovic Lacay, two of the young French-speaking players trying their luck today have already busted out and presumably gone to see some of the sights of Budapest.

A heavily pregnant Alexia Portal made a quiet exit and was seen lurking in the foyer chatting to a sympathetic ear on the other end of her mobile phone. Meanwhile Davidi Kitai won't be adding an EPT title to his WSOP win this week, as his {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} fell foul of Ivo Donev's {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} when the board came down a very decisive {J-?} {Q-?} {Q-?} {2-?} {J-?} and he headed for the rail.

Max Pescatori Doubles Up

I caught the hand on the flop of {8-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}, Max Pesactori checked. Marcus Lehmann bet 700. Pescatori check-raised to 2,300. Lehmann tanked and eventually called. The turn was the {A-Spades} . Pescatori moved all in for his last 2,350. Lehmann went into the tank for several minutes. The clock was called on Lehmann and he called with just a flush draw. Lehmann tabled {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts} while the Italian Pirate showed two pair and {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} . The river was {7-Clubs} . Pescatori won the pot and doubled up. He now has almost 11,000.

Kara Scott Down to Half Her Stack

Two pair no good
Two pair no good
Catching up with Kara Scott during the break, she tells us that she's down to 5,300. Turns out that she was on the big blind in a limped pot and flopped two pair -- but the guy next to her flopped a set and she lost a good few chips that way.
