Khan's Aces Bulldozed

Hevad Khan was all in on a flop of 7-3-2. He was ahead with A-A against his opponents pocket sixes. However, a six fell on the turn as Khan lost the lead. The river did not help him and he lost the pot. Khan's stack was crippled and slipped to about 4,000.

The Hit Squad Curse

The epitomy of exhuberance
The epitomy of exhuberance
Just moments before Mahrenholz's untimely departure, fellow Hit Squad member and former bracelet winner Praz Bansi found himself hurtling towards the rail in similar fashion. He reraised preflop with kings from the big blind, but in a hand that was cooler than an Arctic Breeze, ran headfirst into pocket aces and received no further help.

"It was weird," explained Bansi. "As soon as I exited, I went over to see how Karl was getting on and then he went out. After that, we thought we'd see how Chaz [Chattha] was doing, but as soon as we arrived he lost almost all his chips with kings versus tens."

Thank heavens the Hit Squad are small in numbers, there'd barely be any players left otherwise.

David Williams Eliminated

"I can't believe you cracked my Kings!"
"I can't believe you cracked my Kings!"
David Williams busted out on a dirty sick ugly hand. He was all in preflop with Kings against two opponents who each held A-K. One of them was Liam Flood. The flop was Queen high but the turn was a Jack and the river was a ten. His opponents chopped the pot with a Broadway straight and Williams had his Kings cracked. He was eliminated.

Cowboys Swat the Mantis

Karl 'The Mantis' Mahrenholz usually has better timing than Chronos, but on this occasion he stumbled upon pocket jacks at precisely the wrong time, raising it from the button but running into the pocket kings of the big blind. No divine assistance on the ensuing board, and the Mantis was gone.

Noah Boeken Eliminated

No more poker for Noah
No more poker for Noah
Noah Boeken looked like he was picking up momentum. He nearly tripled up with a shortstack when he shoved with Kings from the small blind in a multi-way pot. That hand put him over 10,000. However, the young Dutch player busted out shortly after.
