Nabil Nabs a Double Up

Nabil Bennour has doubled through German native and luminous pink and green hoodie enthusiast Helge Warkow. Bennour pushed on the turn, Warkow called and they were on their backs.

Board: {4-Clubs} {9-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs}

Warkow: {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}
Bennour: {9-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}

River: a boat-tastic {8-Hearts} which changes nothing but is very pretty if you are Mr Bennour.

Teltscher Finds Rockets

Mark Teltscher has doubled up to around 20,000 with the American Airlines against an opponent holding {K-?} {6-?}, the chips presumably going in the flop of a {J-Spades} {7-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {2-Spades} board. "I had a big hand," explains Teltscher, entirely superfluously.

Katja Thater Makes a Great Call

German soul-reader Katja Thater
German soul-reader Katja Thater
In a pot that was raised by the UTG player and reraised by Katja Thater, the flop came down {7-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {2-Hearts}. UTG check-called Thater's 3,500 bet on the flop and both players checked the {A-Spades} that landed on the turn. When the {J-Hearts} arrived on the river, Thater's opponent asked how much she had behind. Thater wordlessly moved away the water bottle that had been partially blocking her stack from his view, and he settled on a bet of 4,800.

Thater went into the tank, pulling the 4,800 out of her stack to determine how much she would have left if she called and lost. After a few more moments spent deep in thought, she slid those chips into the middle.

"Good call" said her opponent, showing {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} . Thater turned up {K-Spades} {K-Hearts} and raked in the pot, increasing her stack to 25,000.

Ruthenberg Busts Horecki

Just before the dinner break, great Polish hope Marcin Horecki busted out. Three players made it to the {6-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {4-Spades} flop, and it looked as though Sebastian Ruthenberg in early position and Horecki to his immediate left had both checked, while the player on the cutoff had bet 500. Ruthenberg raised to 1,500, Horecki reraised all in for around 7,000, the cutoff passed and Ruthenberg, with a sigh, called.

"I'm drawing," said Horecki.

"I know," said Ruthenberg.

Horecki: {7-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}
Ruthenberg: {6-Clubs} {6-Spades}

Turn: {K-Clubs}

River: {7-Hearts}

With a handshake, Horecki was out and he headed over to the front of the casino where he made "I'm out" faces at his friends in the cash game.

Jepsen Doubles Up

Peter Jepsen and an opponent made it as far the turn of a {9-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} board when it all kicked off. It appeared that Jepsen, on the cutoff, had checked to his opponent on the button, and said opponent had bet 7,000, leaving himself just 800 behind. Jepsen dwelled up long enough to have clock called on him before moving all in. His opponent, obviously, called.

Jepsen: {A-Spades} {9-Spades} for top pair
Opponent on the cutoff: {5-Diamonds} {6-Spades} for a straight draw

River: {K-Hearts}

Jepsen clapped his hands for joy, and enjoys a full double up to around 23,000. The hapless gent on the cutoff is down to just 225 and most likely not long for this tournament.
