Golser No Good Against a House

Markus Golser is down to 7,000 after making it to the river of a {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {7-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {7-Spades} board. The gentleman in the big blind bet out 1,200 only for the gent on the cutoff to raise to 2,400. Golser flat-called and the big blind decided it wasn't worth a call. The cutoff turned over pocket jacks for a full house, and Golser mucked, with a rather sour expression on his face.

Keiner Doubles Up

There was an under the gun raise, and it folded around to Michael Keiner on the button who pushed all in for his last 2,000 or so. An insta-call from under the gun, and it was an easy double up for Keiner.

Under the gun: {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Keiner: {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}

Board: an uneventful {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}

Keiner is still short, though, on around 4,000. He clawed a few back, but then lost them again to ElkY -- Keiner called a preflop raise from ElkY and tried it on for 600 on the turn of the {4-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {5-Clubs} board, but folded to a raise from ElkY that would have put him all in. 4,000 it is for Keiner.

Sorel Mizzi Triples Up

Short-Stacked Sorel
Short-Stacked Sorel
Just before we headed to the break, Sorel Mizzi was moved to Table Levi-DeWolfe. With only 1,500 remaining in his stack, he made his stand and was called by Nicolas Levi and one other opponent. Mizzi's {9-Clubs} {9-Spades} held up on the queen-high board and he tripled up to 4,500.

New CD on the Casino Stereo

After yesterday's '70s party selection (Gloria Gaynor, Tom Jones etc), today the players at the outer tables are being treated to a medley of Euro dance lite classics. Long-haired Frenchman Thomas Fougeron appears to be the only player really appreciating the tunes, nodding quite intensely to the beats. Otherwise, it appears as though the concentration of ipods at the outer tables may well be considerably higher than that at the tables in the back room, where the casino stereo system cannot reach.

England V. France; England Wins

Nicolas Levi is back down to around 11,500, while tablemate Roland De Wolfe is on around 13,500. Levi, in the small blind position, bet out 500 on a {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {9-Spades} flop, and then called a raise to 1,300 from De Wolfe. Both players checked the {4-Clubs} turn, and come the {8-Spades} river, Levi bet out 1,500. De Wolfe, possibly distracted by the massage he was receiving, squirmed a little. "It's almost impossible to fold," he said. "Urrrrr, so sick..." Eventually he called, and it was the right decision -- Levi turned over {8-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for two pair, but De Wokfe's {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} made a bigger two pair to take the pot.

Re-Shuffle

Alex Kravchenko has been moved to Table Strassmann/Mizzi; were it not for the fact that Mizzi is still on just 1,500 in chips and quietly folding every hand, it could well be a contender for Table Of Doom.
