Martin Wendt Value Bets

Martin Wendt
Martin Wendt
With 2,100 in the pot from pre-flop action, Martin Wendt bet 1,275 on a {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop from the cutoff position. The button called the bet after a slight hesitation. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and Martin bet 1,500, a third of the pot. The price was right as he was called and his opponent mucked when Martin showed the {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Gray Gets Away Cheap

Jason Gray
Jason Gray
Jason Gray called an 800 chip raise pre-flop and the two players saw {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts} dealt out in front of them. They both checked and the turn was the {A-Spades}. Again both checked but the initial raiser bet 4,000 on the {10-Hearts} river. The overbet did not work and Jason mucked his kings to be shown A-A by his opponent. Only losing 800 chips on that flop with K-K against A-A is good work by Jason Gray who is on 19,000 chips.

William Thorson on the Wrong End of a Big Pot

William Thorson
William Thorson
An early position raiser bumped it up to 900 to play and got a call from late position. William Thorson, playing from the button, re-raised to 3,000 total. The intial raiser passed but the late position player made the call. It was heads up to the flop of {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Both men checked and the dealer slowly threw down the {3-Clubs} on the turn. Thorson's opponent bet 3,000 and Thorson raised 3,000 more. After a bit of pondering, his opponent made the call. The {2-Diamonds} hit the river and it went check-check. Both men were reluctant to show their holdings until eventually Thorson said "queen-high." His opponent tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Thorson flicked his cards into the muck.

Thierry van den Berg Flexes Some Muscle

Action folded around to the player in the cutoff seat who raised to 775. When it got around to Thierry van den Berg in the big blind, he asked how much the raiser had left. It was just over 4,000 more, apparently enough for van den Berg to make the call as that's what he did. The flop came {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} and both players checked. Thierry van den Berg verbally declared "all in" as soon as the {Q-Spades} hit the turn. His opponent disgustingly mucked and van den Berg stacked up another pot while enjoying his massage.

Negreanu Gets There

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu
An early position raiser made it 600 to go and Daniel Negreanu called from the cutoff. The two took a flop heads up that came {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Both players checked. The turn came the {9-Hearts} and again both men opted not to bet. The river was the {A-Hearts}. The raiser checked and Negreanu tossed out 1,500. He was quickly called and Negreanu showed {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the flush. His opponent mucked and Negreanu couldn't help but grin as he stacked the pot.
