Richard Holmes Eliminates a Player

Richard Holmes
Richard Holmes
Richard Holmes just won his biggest pot of the tournament so far which has propelled him up amongst the chip leaders. He managed to get all his chips in the middle on a KT39 board with JQ against TT and the board did not pair and he was shipped a 24,000 chip pot moving him up to 46,000. He is now on the same table as T6 team mates Billy Argyros and Anders Henriksson.

Small Hit For de Haas

Ed de Haas
Ed de Haas
Ed de Haas was in a heads-up pot which had 1,100 chips in the middle pre-flop. The flop of {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} was checked by both players. Ed check-called an 1,100 bet on the {8-Clubs} turn and also a 1,700 bet on the {4-Diamonds} river, but he had to muck when shown {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} by his opponent. Ed still has 13,000 in chips left after the hand.

Juha Helppi Spreads Around Some Chips

Juha Helppi
Juha Helppi
A late-position player limped in and the player in the cutoff seat raised it to 1,250. Juha Helppi, playing from the button, peeked at his cards and then made the call. The limper passed and it was heads-up to the flop of {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}. It was checked to Helppi and he bet 1,000. His opponent called, although somewhat painfully. The turn came the {10-Clubs} and both players quickly checked. The {9-Clubs} on the river had both men checking again, but a little slower this time. The cutoff rolled over {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Helppi mucked, clearly frustrated.
