Tran Wreck

Appropriately dressed for robbing others' chips
Appropriately dressed for robbing others' chips
Theo Tran is up to 50,000 after thoroughly cold-decking his opponent. The now-busted player got his chips in on the flop.

Tran: {4-?} {4-?}
Soon-to-be-bustee: {K-?} {Q-?}

Board: a rather cruel {Q-?} {4-?} {Q-?} {7-?} {A-?}

Exposing The Bullets Too Soon

With the board reading {3-Spades} {4-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {8-Spades}, Sorrel Mizzi showed his hand of {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} before his opponent opened his cards. The latter then chose to muck but Mizzi wanted to see what he had been up against.

However, after a ruling, he was told that because he (Mizzi) had turned over first instead of waiting, his opponent now did not have to show and could muck his cards instead with no-one able to request to see them.

Assorted Counts

Dennis Phillips - 88,000
Dave Clark - 74,000
Eric Liu - 70,000
Laurence "Riverman" Houghton - 38,000
Lex Veldhuis - 55,000
Jonas Molander - 50,000
Christer Johansson - 88,000
Matt Hawrilenko - 11,000, representing a recovery from his earlier 4,500 or so

Stuck In The Middleton With You

Tom Middleton has dropped to a short stack, in a three-way pot he bet 1,700 on the {10-Spades} {9-Clubs} {3-Hearts} flop. The cutoff behind him called and Ram Vaswani passed.

On the {8-Clubs} turn, Middleton check-called a bet of 3,500 and then another bet of 5,050 on the {Q-Spades} river. His opponent flipped {J-Spades} {7-Spades} for the turned straight and Middleton sighed and mucked.

He has about 3,500 left.

Double Up for Demidov While Liz Lieuses

It looked like Ivan Demidov just limped in the hijack initially, but either way there ensued a brief raising war between him and Liz Lieu in the cutoff, which ended with Lieu calling the three/four-bet and them seeing a {J-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} flop.

While Ivo Donev filmed the whole thing on his camera from across the table for some reason, Demidov bet out 6,250, only for Lieu to announce all in. "I should have folded that preflop," said an uncertain Demidov, "But maybe..." Then he called, and he was ahead.

Lieu: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}
Demidov: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

Turn: {2-Clubs}

River: {2-Spades}

Demidov doubles to 55,000, while Lieu is crippled to 7,300. Yikes.

Organising A Bet - The Sammy George Way

The loud and rambunctious Sammy George has just agreed a last-longer-bet against Alec Torelli which involved loud shouting between the two despite being only a few metres away from each other at seperate tables.

"Pounds or dollars?" said the latter.

"Which country do you think you're in?" was George's riposte.
