Steicke Almost Mucks the Winner

With around 8,000 chips in the pot and the board reading {8-Clubs} {3-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}, David Steicke checked to his opponent Thomas Dolezal. Dolezal fired a bet of 5,275. Steicke tanked before making the call. Dolezal tabled {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs}. Steicke almost mucked his hand not realizing that his opponent only held two pair, eights and fives. He then tabled {A-Clubs} {J-Spades} for a better two pair.

Steicke's now up to 45,000 chips.

Deeb Can't Beat a Full House

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb raised to 250 before Dario Minieri reraised to 700. The player in the big blind called and then Deeb tossed in the call as well.

The flop came down {9-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {2-Hearts} and everyone checked. The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, putting three ducks on board. The big blind fired 1,000 and only Deeb called.

The river was the {J-Spades} and the big blind checked. Deeb checked as well. The big blind showed two red sixes for a full house and Deeb mucked his hand. He's sitting on 28,000 after that hand.

ElkY's Set Flushed Out

Two players checked the flop of {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} to bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. The Team PokerStars PRO France member fired 1,100 and was called in both spots.

The turn and river were both checked by everyone in the hand when it came {Q-Diamonds}, {10-Diamonds}. ElkY showed {5-?} {5-?} for a set of fives on the flop, but the opponent that was first to act on every street tabled {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for the flush. The other player mucked his hand.

ElkY is down to 23,000 chips.

Lacay In Decay

Ludovic Lacay just lost a lot of chips on a board that read {5-?} {4-?} {3-?} {Q-?} {10-?}. Lacay was firing the entire way with two pair, holding an offsuit {5-?} {4-?} in his hand. His opponent had flopped bottom set and wouldn't budge despite Lacay's aggression.

Lacay is down to 18,500 chips.

Isaia Loses To Quads

We came up on a hand involving Alessio Isaia where the board read {J-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {2-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}. Isaia's opponent had bet 2,000 before him. Isaia thought about his decision for about a minute before making the call. His opponent tabled {5-Spades} {5-Hearts} for quad fives and Isaia mucked his hand. He's down to 25,800.

Sleeping Late?

Still no signs of Scotty Nguyen or Gus Hansen. Both are listed on the entrant list as having bought in, so maybe just some extra sleep is holding them back.

Interesting Table Draws

As mentioned before, Shaun Deeb and Dario Minieri are paired together, seated right next to one another. This is definitely grounds for some spicy action. The table that may rival them is the one holding known aggressive players Ludovic Lacay and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier.

In the same back area of the tournament room, Sebastian Ruthenberg has just joined the table that included Sorel Mizzi and Katja Thater. Up a short flight of stairs around the corner from them is David Steicke, Mel Judah, and Florian Langmann all seated together.

Steicke Scoops a Pot

With 1,950 chips in the middle and the board reading {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}, David Steicke checked the action to his opponent. The player fired a bet of 675. Steicke tossed in the call and watched as his opponent tabled the {A-Hearts} first followed by the {10-Clubs}, for just ace high. Steicke announced that he held a full house and showed {2-Spades} {2-Hearts}. He's now up to 32,000.
