Akexandre Gomes raised in mid position and then shoved for 27,000 to a reraise from Sebastian Bidinger. Bidinger thought about it for a long time, and eventually made a good call.
Gomes:
Bidinger:
Now concentrate! Here comes the outdraw bit.
Board:
Gomes doubled to 55,000, while Bidinger looked unhappy but remained a big stack on 120,000.
"Seat open on Table 7!" heard we, and Craig Bergeron headed for the door. Tablemate and crippler Melanie Weisner filled us in on the details.
Weisner opened for 1,350 with and Bergeron called in the big blind to see a flop with two spades on it. Bergeron check-called 2,650 from Weisner, and then bet out 3,500 on the turn. Come the river Bergeron bet out a further 7,225 with just 21,000 back, and then called the extra 10,000 that Weisner raised. He turned over which was not good enough to beat Weisner's straight, and was down to two pair.
Next hand he shoved with pocket deuces to a raise, and found the raiser holding pocket tens. That was the end of that.
"He's so mad at me," said Weisner of Bergeron, "He's like never going to talk to me again."
Gael Monfils, a French tennis player who recently joined Team PokerStars SportsStar, opened from middle position, and Omar Baioumi added another 4,700 on top. Monfils called, and the flop came . Monfils bet out 4,000, and Baioumi raised to 9,000. Gael called. After the on the turn, both players checked. It was check-check again after the river. Monfils tabled , but his king was no good when Baioumi turned up . Monfils is getting short, while Baioumi is up to 130,000.
Joe Cada raised preflop to 2,025 before Matej Cepon reraised to 6,500 from the cutoff. Cada thought for a minute or two before making it 14,250 to play. Cepon shoved for about 60,000 and Cada snap-called.
Cada:
Cepon:
Board:
Cada, "I wanted it to look I wasn't getting 2-1 on your shove."
The gentleman on the button raised to 2,400 and Johan van Til made it 6,550 from the small blind. The big blind shoved for around 15,000, the button passed, and van Til made the call.
Van Til:
Big Blind Gentleman: a rather esoteric
Board:
With that, the flame-haired Dutchman is up to 115,000.
The PokerNews bloggers' table is being treated right now to the sight of EPT Dortmund winner Sandra Naujoks receiving what looks to be a very thorough massage at an empty table right in front of us.
From this we conclude that the Team PokerStars Pro is no longer in the running for this Main Event.
[EDIT]
...And now we know how it happened. Thanks, Homer!
James Mitchell raised preflop with pocket kings and Naujoks flatted with queens. They saw a flop and naujoks checked. Mitchell bet 2,400, Naujoks raised to 6,000 with 14,000 behind, Mitchell shoved and after tanking for many minutes, Naujoks called all in. No further queens hit the felt, and Naujoks hit the massage table at the back of the room.
"She nit-rolled me," Mitchell complained. "Imagine if I'd had jacks."
A player under-the-gun raised to 2,700, and Nicolas Levi, another player, and small blind Ty Reiman all called to see a flop. All four players checked to a free turn card, the . With the flush completed, Reiman bet out 5,400. Only Levi made the call. The river was the , putting four hearts and a possible full house on the board. Reiman checked, and Levi bet 14,000. Ty didn't look happy about it, but he called. He looked even less happy when he saw that with the case sixes, Levi had rivered quads. The hand pushed Levi over 80,000 and dropped Reiman to 23,000.
Chris Moorman, EPT Deauville winner Jake Cody and James Dempsey are randomly picking tables to prop bet on.
The rules are that that two of them pick a player for third until they all have one each at a table. Then they stay at that table until one of 'their' players wins a pot and if it is your player, you win €100. However, they've also included 'mad' bonuses.
If your player busts: €500 given each to the other two.
If your player eliminates someone: You receive €1,000 from each of the other two.
If your player open folds the button: €250 given to each of the other two.
If your player 3-bet folds: €200 given to each of the other two.
If your player cold 4-bets: You receive €500 from the other two.
