A total of 987 players from 57 countries competed creating a €4,786,950 prize pool. Interestingly, 438 Italians played (44% overall) which was the exact number of players that competed on Day 1a. France was second with 84 players (9%) and Sweden was third with 53 players (5%).
The tournament is slowing down for 15 minutes as we go on the penultimate break of the day.
Joel Benzinou was sadly turning over his on the flop - we say sadly, because his all-in opponent had already turned over . There was no help for the Belgian from the turn or river, and he's at 39,000 now. His newly doubled opponent is at 50,000.

Pierre Sakr raised to 925 from under the gun and Ted Forrest three-bet from the small blind with a bet of 3,700. A very happy looking Sakr made the call grinning form ear to ear.
Flop:
Sakr bet 8,300 and Forrest snap-folded.
"Thanks for making my decision easier," said Forrest.
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has been eliminated after getting all in with against but the queen spiked and the Frenchman will have to wait until Madrid before making his mark.
Alexander Novitskiy has had a tough time of it of late, he fired out 2,500 on the turn of a board against Xuan Liu, then checked and snap-folded when Liu bet 5,100 on the river.
A couple of hands later and Ted Forrest opened to 1,000 UTG and Novitskiy was one of two callers to see the flop. Forrest fired out 1,200 and Novitskiy made the call while the big blind (who had also called preflop) folded. The on the turn was an interesting card and Forrest led for 2,600 and this time Novitskiy snap-folded with a real sigh of frustation
Johnny Lodden is out. We didn't see it, but EPT media coordinator Mad Harper did. In her words:
"Nines. Didn't see the rest of it, but someone else must have had better."
