Vidrobrigsvor Wins Early Pot

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Over on Table 25 play is five-handed and it is the home to Team PokerStars Pro Pierre Neuville. From UTG+1 Dag Vidrobrigsvor opened the betting to 250 and when the action folded to Neuville, in the small blind, he made the call.

The flop came down {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Neuville tapped the table and checked. Vidrobrigsvor kept up the aggression and set the price to play at 525 but it was too high for the Belgian and he quickly got out of the way.

First blood to Vidrobrigsvor.

Welcome to Day 1a of EPT Copenhagen

Good morning and welcome to the Casino Copenhagen, Denmark and the European Poker Tour (EPT). It is, of course, Day 1a of the most prestigious poker tour in Europe and if you want to know every check, fold and raise then you have come to the right place.

This DKK 37,250 event is talked about as possibly one of the toughest EPT events of the calendar year because of its origins in Scandinavia. The Scandinavians are some of the toughest poker players on the planet and this is why the pros say it is one of the toughest to beat.

In Season 7 it was a Scandinavian, Michael Tureniec, who won the first prize of DKK 3,700,000 after defeating fellow Swede Per Linde heads up. John Eames finished in 3rd place in that event and he will be joining the shenanigans in Day 1b, which starts tomorrow.

Action is underway at 12.00 (CET) and so whom do we have playing? Well last night we had a few drinks with former EPT & WPT Champion Roberto Romanello. We also saw former EPT champions Rupert Elder and David Vamplew heading out into the Danish air for a spot of food with Melanie Weisner and Dominik Nitsche.

Team PokerStars will be sending along their top pros to once again do battle. The first prong of attack includes Pierre Neuville, Arnaud Mattern, Theo Jorgensen, Johnny Lodden and Viktor Blom. Also keep your eye out for probably the best player never to win an EPT. Martin Jacobson is here, and fully recovered after his car crash on his way home from EPT Deauville recently.

So go and eat your breakfast, go for a run, kick the cat whatever it is you do on a Monday morning - just make sure you are back with Pokernews at 12.00 (CET) for all of the action from EPT Copenhagen.
