Jack Ellwood is battling away on 13,500, some of which was thanks to hitting a river card versus Josef Bachar.
Ellwood raised to 900 from the cut-off and was called by Bachar in the big blind. The two players took a flop where Ellwood saw his 1,100 c-bet called.
No chips chips made it into the middle as both players checked through the turn and river. Bachar opened but lost out to the Brit's .
Nicolas Levi has just explained the 100,000 chip pot that sent former chip leader Lorenzo Sabato spinning out of the tournament.
Apparently on a board with originally only 1,000 in the pot, Sabato and Ohad Simhon managed to get into a raising war putting 50,000 chips each. Sabato's draw managed to completely brick against Simhon's solitary one pair holding of for what looks to be the biggest pot so far today.
The Main Event doesn't seem to treat Dan Smith as well as the 50K Super High Roller as he keeps going down in the chip counts. Smith just lost another hand after calling for 700 preflop and going heads up against Francesc Xavier Guixeras Giner from Spain.
The dealer burned and turned for a flush draw and Smith lead for 1,600 and Giner check-called. Both checked the on the turn as well as on the river.
Smith showed for a pair of nines and Giner flipped for a higher pair and collected the pot.
The first dinner break is upon the field. One half of the tournament room is off to dinner while the other half plays through. In 90 minutes, the second half will go to dinner before the other returns.
