If you're in town for the European Poker Tour Berlin, then here are some tips on how to spend your day off. If you're not here, then here are plenty of reasons to start planning your next vacation, Germany-bound!
Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of the €5,300 European Poker Tour Berlin Main Event. Yesterday, Day 1a attracted 243 players with 110 of them surviving to make Day 2. Vladimir Geshkenbein narrowly edged out Jens Weigel to claim the chip lead and the competitors today will have a tall task in front of them if they want to eclipse the 201,600-chip mark that Geshkenbein has set.
Today is set to be a massive day of action and the field size will represent just that. It's already being planned that the staff will make use of the Spielbank Casino just a few yards away from the luxurious Hyatt Hotel in order to accommodate the monster field.
Team PokerStars SportStars Boris Becker and Fatima Moreira de Melo will be taking to the felt along with a slew of Team Pros including world champion Pius Heinz, 2010 world champion Jonathan Duhamel, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Sandra Naujoks, Sebastian Ruthenberg, Lex Veldhuis, Liv Boeree, Andre Akkari, Arnaud Mattern, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov and Vanessa Rousso.
Play is set to kick off promptly at noon local time and PokerNews will be going live with updates then. Another 10 levels will be in the books when it's all said and done, so be sure to stick around and sweat some of the biggest names in poker all day long!
