Guillen Fires River

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Angel Guillen and an opponent looked down at a monotone flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Guillen checked to his opponent on the button who bet 700. Guillen opted to stay the course and watched on as the {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn. He checked again, prompting his opponent to knock the table back in reply.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Guillen reached for chips. He tossed out 1,200 and his opponent quickly let his hand go. Guillen took the pot and brought his stack up to about 13,900 in chips.

Boatman Takes Sizable Hit

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Three players including Barny Boatman and Alejandro Muriel Rodriguez took a flop of {9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} in a raised pot. The first player to act checked, putting action on Boatman. He reached for chips and dropped 750 into the middle. Rodriguez called from the button and the first player did the same.

The dealer produced the {4-Spades} on fourth street and action once again checked Boatman's way. He continued his aggression with a bet of 2,000. Rodriguez called and the first player folded. This left Boatman and Rodriguez heads up to the {6-Clubs} on the river. Boatman bet 5,000, Rodriguez instantly called, and Boatman shrugged. He tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for ace-high and a busted diamond and straight draw. Rodriguez responded by tabling {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a winning two pair.

With this hit, Boatman's stack has been essentially cut in half from the starting stack. He now sits on 16,000 in chips.

Kuo Climbing Back

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Kitty Kuo raised to 250 from middle position and found a single call from an opponent in the big blind. The dealer fanned a flop of {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and action checked to Kuo. She continued for 225 and her opponent called.

Fourth street brought the {k-Clubs} to the felt and Kuo's opponent took the lead for 400. Kuo called to see the {7-Clubs} finish off the community cards. Action checked to Kuo and she tossed out a single 1,000 chip. Her opponent thought for about 30 seconds before releasing his cards into the muck. Kuo took down the pot and is now climbing back toward starting stack with approximately 27,500 to her name.
