We Have a New Chipleader, Oh Wait, No We Don't

Florian Langmann became the new chip leader with $82,000, but by the time I got to his table he had doubled up a few small stacks and is back down to $60,000, which is still a dominating chunk of change.

He is at the same table as Mickey Wernick, who has seen his stack increase tenfold in the last four hours, to $40,000. This could end up being one of the great comebacks and should he and Florian tangle with each other we could have a final tablist in our midst.

Elsewhere, Ben Grundy is slowly but surely increasing his stack; he is sitting with $20,000.

Golsen losing momentum

He did get his stack to over the 50,000 mark at one point today and was chip leader but he's taken a few hits and has dropped back among the chasing pack.

The most recent dent to his stack was made by Englishman Nick Slade, when Slade re-raised all in from the Big Blind with {10-Hearts}{7-Spades} and was called by Golsen on who had opened the pot on the button with {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Flop {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{J-Clubs} and the turn and river changed nothing. Slade takes down a 14K pot and Golsen is back to hovering around the 30K mark

All You Need is a Microchip and a Chair

It's getting late and the bad puns have started.

Johnny Lodden is not just content with dominating Day 1A. He is here and probably amassing more chips than any of his peers in the card room. This picture was taken in the balcony overlooking the tournament area where Lodden is playing very high stakes cash on his laptop.
