Bogert Catches Up

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Cory Bogert
Cory Bogert

Action unfolded remarkably quickly in a hand between table neighbors Cory Bogert and Mike Sloan in the final level of the night.

Bogert opened to 2,500—a hair more than a min-raise—from under the gun, and it folded around to Mike Sloan in the big blind, who opted to defend.

When the flop came down {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Sloan quickly led into Bogert for 3,500. Bogert eyed Sloan's stack, then his face, and tossed in the call.

Sloan bet again on the {q-Clubs} turn, this time for 4,000. Bogert called even faster.

The {5-Spades} river fell, and Sloan bet 7,000. Bogert immediately called once more. Sloan tabled {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for a flopped two pair, but Bogert showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades}, having bested him on the turn when he hit his queen.

Higgins Climbs the Ranks

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded around to the cutoff, who opened for 2,400. Only Matt Higgins called in the small blind.

The flop came {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The cutoff continued for 3,500, and Higgins called.

The {10-Diamonds} paired the board, added a second flush draw, and went check-check.

Higgins led for 6,500 on the {q-Hearts} river, and the cutoff quickly called. Higgins showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for well-disguised trips and added the pot to his already intimidating stack.

Mangold Doubles Through Noel

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Mangold
Jason Mangold

Bobby Noel raised to 2,500 from the hijack, and was called by Jason Mangold in the cutoff, as well as the small blind and Bryan Skreens in the big blind.

Action checked to Noel on a {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, and he bet 4,000. Mangold instantly shoved his last 10,300 in the pot, and after the blinds folded, Noel flicked a chip in the pot to call.

Jason Mangold: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Bobby Noel: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Mangold's top pair faded the five-outer on the {3-Hearts} turn and {10-Hearts} river to earn the double.

Davidson Nails the Read

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Nick Davidson
Nick Davidson

With about 5,000 in the pot on a heads-up flop of {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Nick Davidson checked in the cutoff, and Melissa Bryne bet 3,000. Davidson quickly called.

Davidson checked the {4-Diamonds} turn, and Bryne continued for 5,000. Davidson stared at the board, saying, "Ace-ten?" as he spun his hand into the muck.

Bryne offered the satisfaction of a solid read as consolation when she flashed {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} across the table. "Ace-ten! There you go," said Davidson.

Lowery Crests a Quarter-Million

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Lowery
Daniel Lowery

Dan Lowery raised to 3,000 on the button, and was called by Blair Hinkle in the small blind and Kyle Cartwright in the big blind.

All three players checked the {5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop, and Hinkle led out for 6,000 on the {k-Diamonds} turn. Only Lowery called.

Hinkle bet 18,000 on the {4-Diamonds} river, and Lowery raised to 36,500. Hinkle tanked for a minute before making the call, only to muck after Lowery tabled {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a runner-runner flush.

"Queen Plays!"

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Spenser Cramer opened to 2,200 from middle position and saw four callers: the cutoff, Henry Zou on the button, and both blinds.

Each of the five checked the all-diamond flop of {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

On the {10-Clubs} turn, Cramer threw out a 5k chip when checked to. Only Zou called, smirking as he did it.

The {10-Spades} river put trips on the board, and both players checked. Cramer rolled over {j-Spades}{8-Spades}, second best to Zou's {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Zou shouted, "Queen plays!" and grinned as he collected his winnings.
