Korobovs' Check-Raise Gets It Done

Level 9 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Sergejs Korobovs raised to 1,600 from under the gun and received a call from Sidney Oppong the next seat over. Andrew Toole then made it 6,000 to go from the cutoff and the action folded back to Korobovs. Korobovs made the call and Oppong folded after some deliberation.

The flop {8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} saw Toole bet 4,000 after a check from Korobovs. Korobovs then raised to 12,000, which resulted in a quick fold from Toole.

Eames Back-Raises to Be Back in Contention

Level 9 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
John Eames
John Eames

Pavlos Xanthopoulos opened the action by raising to 1,800 from early position. John Eames called from the hijack, before Tomasz Kolewczynski put out a three-bet to 7,500 from the small blind. Xanthopoulos got out of the way but Eames created further action by back-raising all in for 39,100 chips.

Kolewczynski asked for an exact count before calling and putting Eames at risk, and the cards were tabled:

John Eames: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Tomasz Kolewczynski: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

It was looking bleak for Eames after the {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, but the turn {a-Spades} brought relief. The river remained diamond-free with the {2-Clubs}, and Eames secured a big double-up.

Weis Piles in a Starting Stack

Level 9 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

John Ward opened to 1,700 from the button, and small blind Eugenio Peralta folded. Michael Weis was in the big blind and decided to go all-in for exactly one starting stack: 30,000 chips was the bet.

Ward mulled it over after getting an exact count but eventually decided on a fold, showing Weis and the rest of the table the {a-Clubs} in doing so.

Murphy Comes Out Ahead in Flip

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Shaundle Pruitt raised from the hijack to 1,200 and button Thomas Murphy went all-in for 13,700. Pruitt covered Murphy and was in the tank for a little while, but announced a call to the dealer, and the cards were turned face-up.

Thomas Murphy: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Shaundle Pruitt: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The board ran out mostly clean for Pruitt with {4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}, but the river {a-Hearts} made sure that Murphy won the pot and secured his double-up.

Vogt Finds Kings to Triple

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Adrian Vogt had open-jammed for his last 5,800 chips from middle position. Both Liam Durnin in the small blind and James O'Sullivan in the big blind made the call. A flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} saw Durnin check to O'Sullivan, who bet 5,000. This was enough to get Durnin out of the pot, leaving the other two players to show down.

Adrian Vogt: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
James O'Sullivan: {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The turn {3-Diamonds} and river {7-Hearts} remained safe for Vogt, who secured a triple up and now has some room to play with again.

Gravlien Gets Rid of Vicas

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Bjorn Gravlien
Bjorn Gravlien

The board was already completed when the action was caught, with around 15,000 chips in the middle. On {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} cutoff Bjorn Gravlien bet enough to put button Marijus Vicas' 12,500 remaining chips at risk.

After some minutes in the tank, Vicas came up with a call and saw the bad news.

Marijus Vicas: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Bjorn Gravlien: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

A full house for Gravlien to beat Vicas' two pair. Vicas exited the tournament with commiserations from table mate Andy Black, while Gravlien added to his already impressive stack.
