Ask and It Is Given Kind of Thing

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Vincent Sanchez was all in against William Wood preflop, with Wood the player at risk.

William Wood: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Vincent Sanchez: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Wood was well ahead with his pocket kings and looked set to double up. As the flop fell, Sanchez was shouting for his jack. The board came {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Sanchez made his set.

"Nooo!", said a neutral player in shock.

"See, you have to ask the Universe for what you want," said Sanchez, although Wood was already leaving.

Spragg Gets Dealt Aces, Busts

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Marle Spragg
Marle Spragg

Marle Spragg busted from the feature table in the previous level. It all started when Bjorn Gravlien raised from early position to 16,000. Spragg was on the button and three-bet to 45,000. Gravlien quickly called and the flop was dealt.

{9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} was what the deck had in store. Gravlien check-raised Spragg's 35,000 bet to 80,000 and she paid the extra chips to see a turn. The {9-Hearts} slowed the action considerably as both players now checked.

On the {7-Diamonds} river Gravlien retook the initiative by betting 150,000, close to what Spragg had behind. Spragg then raised all-in to 171,000 and Gravlien snap called.

Spragg had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} for a full house, but was crushed by the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} of Gravlien.

Death by quads for Spragg, who had to leave the tournament area not too long before the end of Day 2.

PN Podcast: Shaun Deeb Trashes $10,000 & Guest Vanessa Selbst Returns to Talk WSOP

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Plus, Shaun Deeb has been in the headlines this week for a few reasons. First, he won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit $1,700 Main Event at Turning Stone for $276K, and then he made a body fat percentage loss prop bet with Bill Perkins, one that could see him either lose $100,000 or possibly win $1,000,000! Finally, he actually talks to Connor about nearly losing $10,000, which had to be fished out of a trash can. Find out the story behind what happened from Deeb himself.

Also, hear from the legendary Vanessa Selbst, who stepped away from poker years ago but has recently dipped her toe back in as a part of the WSOP Thrill Team. Selbst talks to Chad about what inspired her to join, what she thinks of the game nowadays, and her plans for poker, including a likely return to the WSOP this summer. Don't miss your chance to hear from one of the best to ever play the game.

Van den Berg's Two Pair Good Enough for Double

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Thierry van den Berg
Thierry van den Berg

Thierry van den Berg was pondering a self-proclaimed ''tough call''. On a completed board of {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} his opponent Andrea Piazza had gone all-in from the button after a check from big blind Van den Berg. The pot was worth roughly 120,000 and the jam was for a bit more, 149,000 effective.

Eventually, Van den Berg called and got shown that he was right. His {j-Hearts}{10-Spades} beat the missed straight draw of Piazza, who played {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Van den Berg was relieved, while Piazza was left behind with 4,000 chips, looking for an opportunity to spin it up.
