Devilfish Loses Big in a 5 Way Limped Pot

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

In a very rare five way limped pot the flop was {J-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades}

The first three players checked and Jerome Brion bet 33,000. Devilfish raised to 100,000 and it folded back to Brion. After a brief pause he pulled out the chips from his stack and called.

The turn brought {5-Clubs} Brion checked and Devilfish checked behind.

The {6-Hearts} on the river and the action was on Brion. He took his time and eventually put out a bet of 126,000.

This seemed to sting Devilfish who started talking, but Brion stared impassively ahead. Having declared that he couldn’t fold his hand, Devilfish called the bet and was dismayed to see his opponent table{K-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

“Bloody hell. King eight of clubs. He called a bet of a hundred thousand on the turn and he wasn’t even drawing to the nut flush. So f!#&ing bad it’s scary. Unbelievable.” Devilfish decalred to the table and showed the {J-Hearts}

Albert Sapiano moved all his chips over the line and Jen Yue-Chiang asked for a count. The dealer confirmed it was 229,000. Chiang checked his cards again and thought about what to do.

Sapriano realising his tournament was probably on the line wearily rose from his seat and addressed Chiang. “You might as well call. I fancy your chances. You knocked me out of the last tournament.” He said.

The Devilfish piped up, “You knocked yourself out.”

Chiang called from the small blind, the big blind folded and the cards were on their backs.

Chiang flipped over {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} versus Sapiano’s {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs} {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} and Sapiano was knocked out by his nemesis. Again.

Bas Bosses Davies

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Damien Bas should consider changing his name to Boss after a hand that just went down on Table 63.

Leigh Wiltshire opened to 32,000 under the gun and after a couple of players folded Pete Linton called. Bas then put in a three-bet from the button only to see Anthony Davies cold four-bet from the big blind to 205,000. Both Wiltshire and Linton folded but Bas was not done with his hand. He five-bet to 298,000 and after 30-45 seconds, Davies called.

The {K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop seemed to put Davies in an awkward spot and he fidgeted and shuffled in his seat while deciding what action to take. The action he settled on was a check. Bas counted out a number of chips before silently sliding 180,000 over the betting line. After 45 seconds, Davies folded and was shown the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades} as a reward!

"Jacks?" quizzed Bas

"Seven-deuce offsuit," said Davies in the tone of a man that had just been owned.
