Welcome to Day 4 of the ISPT Event in London

Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

There's just 98 players left here at Wembley stadium for Day 4 of the ISPT event here in the glorious London sun. Leading the way at the moment is the hot-streaking German Ole Schemion who has been on a tear for the last two years. He has 1,543,000 in chips and is one of only three players over the million chip mark.

Today marks a change in the tournament in that we're moving out of the Inflated Igloos of Doom that were on the Wembley pitch and instead to the classy Bobby Moore suite near the press area. This will certainly help the legs of the Pokernews Live Reporting Team, who calculated late last night that they'd climbed higher than Mount Blanc over the last three days!

Play will be starting at 12pm local time.

Double for Deeb

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

It's been a good start for Freddy Deeb, he was all in preflop with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and managed to spike an ace against Neil Bernardout's {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} to double up to close to half a million.

Schemion Gets Busy Early

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Ole Schemion

Benoit Albiges opened for 22,000 and was 3-bet on the button by tournament chip leader Ole Schemion. The blinds folded and Albiges called.

The flop fell {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {10-Spades} Albiges checked and Schemion checked behind.

The {6-Diamonds} on the turn prompted Albiges to bet 35,000, but a raise to 110,000 by Schemion took the pot as Albiges released his hand.

Moreira Mauls Meissonnier

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Eric Meissonnier has had a very short day at the felt and is now on his way home. He got his 85,000 chips (8.5 big blinds) into the middle with a pair of sevens and Andre Moreira called with pocket nines. The five community cards were void of sevens and Messonnier's tournament ended.

Bas Gets High

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Damien Bas is back above an average stack after doubling through Thomas High.

The majority of the chips went into the middle on a {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} board, High holding {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} but in desperate need of help against the {A-Spades}{J-Spades} that had flopped the nut flush. That help failed to appear, as the {7-Diamonds} landed on the turn to double Bas up.

Kalmar Crushed

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jon Kalmar, former WSOP Main Event finalist, is the latest player to be eliminated from the tournament. He was all in with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} against Gary Bryan's {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and looked good for a double up but the board came {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Bryan spiked a ten to move up to about 500,000.

Wernick Grinding Onwards

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Stalwart of the UK poker scene, Mickey Wernick has increased his chip stack by eliminating the talented young Polish player Michal Polchlopek. Wernick had opened to 25,000 preflop and Polchlopek moved all in for about 180,000, Wernick called with {A-}{K-} and had the Pole's {K-}{Q-} dominated.

Neither player hit and Wernick is much more comfortable as a result.
