Seiver Rivers Boat in Massive Pot

Seiver Master Blasting his way to the top
Seiver Master Blasting his way to the top
Scott Seiver moved all in on a final board of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for 220,500 against Lars Bonding. Bonding tanked and tanked before eventually making the call. Seiver revealed that he hit a full house on the river with pocket fours and Bonding mucked his hand.

That pot was worth around 675,000 chips and that's how much Seiver has now. Remember, he began the day with just over 40,000. Bonding was left with 290,000.

Maria Ho Eliminated

We arrived at table 16 just as Maria Ho was making her exit.

A glance at the board showed that Ho had been all in with {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and had run into Vanessa Selbst's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. The final board read {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Maria is out just as level 15 nears its end.

Seiver Doubles through Ivey

What is this not winning thing?
What is this not winning thing?
Scott Seiver raised to 11,000 preflop, and Phil Ivey defended his big blind. The flop fell {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, and Ivey checked. Seiver bet 15,500, and Ivey raised to 45,000. Scott took about 1.2 seconds before moving all in, and Ivey snap called to put Seiver at risk. On their backs.

Seiver: {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} for the nut flush draw and a pair of tens
Ivey: {K-Hearts} {7-Hearts} for a counterfeited flush draw

The turn was the {A-Clubs}, and Ivey was drawing dead. After the meaningless {5-Diamonds} on the river, Ivey paid out 92,800 to double up the once-short-stacked Seiver. He's working with an average stack now after starting the day fifth from the bottom.

Froelich Booms

Eric Froelich just played a pot worth 700,000 chips against Dennis Tuttle. The two got it all in preflop in some crazy raise-reraise-shove action where Froelich held {A-?}{K-?} against Tuttle's {A-?}{J-?}.

Froelich's hand held up and he won the pot to move to 700,000 chips. Tuttle was left with just 50,000.

Ivey Doesn't Win?

Yesterday Phil Ivey seemed to win pots at will while watching coverage of the Masters. Today his seat has no view of the Masters coverage and his stack is trending downwards. He fired on a {6-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} flop against Scott Seiver; Seiver checked and called. Seiver then checked and called another 38,000 on the {J-Diamonds} turn. That prompted Ivey to shut down after Seiver checked the {4-Hearts} river. Seiver's {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} made a pair of queens to win the pot.

"Queen-eight of spades, kicking ass and taking names," remarked Todd Terry.

Tricky Terry

Devious little monkey

Jonathan Aguiar opened to 10,000, and Todd Terry reraised his button to 25,000. Aguiar slowly made the call. The flop came {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}, and Aguiar checked. Terry bet 30,000, and Aguiar took a minute to think. Eventually he gave it up, and Terry flipped over {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} for absolutely nothing.

"Gonna get run over by the Todd Terry all day," Aguiar grumbled.

"Some people have bigger egos than common sense," Scott Seiver opined.

Priest Prays for a Ten

Alex Santiago and James Lee won't get much sleep tonight. They were both all in with pocket aces and were up against William Priest's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Alas, the board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Priest spiked the ten on the river and eliminated both of his opponents. He is nearing the 300,000 chip mark.

T.O.D.

Sometimes there's a debate over which table is the Table of Death. But today there isn't a shred of doubt. The day began with the room's most feared player, Phil Ivey, sharing the felt with formidable opponents Jonathan Aguiar, Dennis Phillips, Todd Terry, and new PokerStars Team Pro Canada member Marcello Del Grosso. Then in the table-balancing process, Scott Seiver and Lars Bonding were added to the mix. Wow.

Lars Building

The name's Bonding. Lars Bonding.
The name's Bonding. Lars Bonding.
In a battle of the big stacks, Lars Bonding and Firas Massouh saw a raised pot with smaller stack Tomislav Dobrilovic.

Flop: {J-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} - Massouh checked to Bonding, who bet 17,000. Dobrilovic folded, and Massouh called.

Turn: {K-Hearts} - Check/check.

River: {A-Clubs} - Firas fired 43,000, and Lars went deep into the tank. He emerged with a call, tabling {K-Spades} {10-Spades}. That was good for the sizable pot, and Firas looked extremely unhappy.
