Yep, That's a Good Flop

Jonathan Aguiar had the button and opened with a raise to 76,000. Big blind Brandon Hall was the only caller to a flop of {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {J-Hearts}. Boh players checked.

Hall led out for 110,000 on the {A-Spades} turn. Aguiar called and then was faced with a bet of another 225,000 on the {5-Hearts} river. He let out a deep sigh and then called. Hall turned over {9-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} for a jack-high straight.

"Was that a good flop?" Scott Seiver asked.

Seiver Scores One

Beasley thinks about what could have been.

Mike Beasley in the small blind, Derek Raymond in the big blind, and Scott Seiver on the button took a flop three ways.

Flop: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} - Beasley checked, Raymond bet 67,000, and Seiver called. Beasley talked himself into a fold, saying "I'm just not going to get myself into that spot."

Turn: {7-Spades} - Raymond bet 132,000, and after some debate over the actual bet amount (apparently Raymond thought he'd slid out 137,000 but had actually bet one T5,000 chip less), Seiver called.

River: {9-Diamonds} - Raymond checked, and Seiver announced a bet of 400,000. Raymond shook his head, played with his chips and folded.

There was an explosion of angry muttering from Beasley, who says he folded {9-?} {7-?} and went runner-runner for a boat. "You bust me then," Seiver said. Just a reminder that in a tournament, luck comes in many forms.

A Little Spot of Controversy

With the elimination of Peter Jetten in 13th place, the tables were unbalanced -- seven players on the front table and five on the back. The dealer at the back table stopped dealing while waiting for a hand at the front table to finish so a player could be brought over. Vanessa Rousso took the opportunity to leave the room, while Mike Woods and Zachary Fritz headed for the coffee set-up.

Scott Seiver and Jonathan Aguiar were not happy that dealing had stopped on the back table. They argued that a difference of two (seven players to five players) was not enough to pause action. TD Rick Landry came onto the floor and agreed with them, instructing the dealer on the back table to resume dealing.

Rousso returned moments later.

Peter Jetten managed to triple up following his hand against Michael Woods, but would be eliminated the next hand. It was folded to him in the small blind and he shoved for about 150,000.

Zachary Fritz called in the big blind with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and led Jetten's {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Jetten is out in 13th place. Fritz is nearing 700,000.

Seiver's Recovery Continues

Scott Seiver has shown plenty of fight today despite some unfortunate results. He's still in the hunt and just added another 250,000 to his stack. He and Derek Raymond played a limped pot with Seiver on the button and Raymond in the big blind. Both players checked the {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} flop. On the turn {J-Spades}, Raymond checked again. Seivered bet 55,000 and Raymond called.

On the river {5-Hearts} Raymond checked a third time. Seiver bet 200,00, just more than the size of the pot. Raymond thought, called, and mucked when Seiver showed {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

Jetten Slowrolled by Woods

Peter Jetten opened to 75,000 from under the gun and action folded a couple spots over to Michael Woods in the cutoff seat. He reraised and made it 200,000 to go. Action moved back over to Jetten and after about a minute, he announced that he was all in. Woods took a moment and then made the call.

Jetten tabled the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Woods tabled the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. The entire table began to look around at each other because they all realized Woods was the one who took a little bit to call preflop with two aces. Vanessa Selbst leaned over the table to get a better look and saw the aces, then began to talk about the slowroll with Vanesaa Rousso.

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Woods earned the double up. He was all in for 930,000 and Jetten was left with just under 40,000 chips.

Seiver Gets Three Streets of Value

Brandon Hall and Scott Seiver were in the blinds for a heads-up limped flop of {8-Clubs} {6-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. Hall check-called a half-pot bet of 30,000 from Seiver.

The turn was the {2-Spades}. Hall again checked, then again called after Seiver fired a second bullet for 80,000. The river paired the board {K-Hearts}. Hall checked a third time. Seiver didn't slow down, betting out 210,000. Hall deliberated about thirty seconds bfore calling. Seiver showed {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs} for three kings, which was plenty good.

Seiver is up to about 1.4 million.

Beasley Takes Pot After Four Players See Flop

Mike Beasley
Mike Beasley
Brandon Hall started things off with a raise to 72,000 from middle position. Scott Seiver called from the hijack seat, Mike Beasley called from the cutoff seat and Jonathan Aguiar called from the small blind.

The four of them saw the flop come down {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Aguiar and Hall both checked before Seiver fired 160,000. Beasley called and the other two players folded in order.

After the {J-Clubs} fell on the turn, Seiver checked. Beasley opted not to fire and simply checked behind.

The river card was the {9-Spades} and Seiver checked again. Beasley checked behind and opened up the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Seiver mucked his hand and the chips were pushed Beasley's way.
