Duthie Crippled in Runner-runner Fashion

John Duthie limped the button and then Hoyt Corkins raised to 10,000. Duthie reraised all in and then Cokins went into the tank. Eventually, he announced a call and with the chips stacks virtually even, the cards were on their backs.

Corkins: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Duthie: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Duthie held the dominating hand and stayed in front on the flop of {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The turn brought a nice sweat card with the {4-Diamonds} peeling off to give Corkins a straight and flush draw to go with his pair of aces. The river completed that flush draw with the {J-Diamonds} and the chips were counted down. Corkins was the at-risk player with 84,000 chips and scooped the pot to leave Duthie with just 7,000 chips.

Duthie Doubles Up

Hoyt Corkins moved all in from the button and John Duthie made the quick call for his last 37,000 chips. He held the better hand with the {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, but Corkins had live cards with the {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Duthie stayed in front, taking away the queen as an out for Corkins. The turn was the {K-Clubs} and then the river completed the board with the {A-Spades}.

Duthie doubled to 74,000, but Corkins still have the lead with 101,000.

Corkins Improving Lead

With the final board reading {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, John Duthie fired a pot-sized bet of 15,000 into Hoyt Corkins. Corkins tanked and then made the call.

Duthie mucked after Corkins showed the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for two pair, aces and sixes, and won the hand. He's up to about 140,000 and Duthie has 35,000.

Duthie's Cold

John Duthie just requested something warm to put on and the tournament staff brought him a jacket to wear due to it being very cold in here.

Duthie Picks One Up

John Duthie limped the button and Hoyt Corkins checked in the big blind. The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Corkins bet 2,400. Duthie called.

The turn was the {K-Clubs} and both players checked.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Corkins checked to Duthie who bet 4,000. Corkins folded and Duthie won the pot.
