From under the gun, Ty Reiman raised to 26,000. Action then folded over to Jimmie Guinther in the cutoff seat and he reraised to 66,000. Action got back over to Reiman and he moved all in for 311,000. Guinther made the call.
Reiman:
Guinther:
The board ran out and Reiman was out the door. Guinther moved to 1.2 million in chips.
With about 80,000 in the pot and a board reading , Micah Raskin checked and Anh Van Nguyen bet 85,000. Raskin then check-raised the minimum to 170,000. Nguyen folded and is now down to 545,000.
Action folded to Jason Mercier and he raised to 25,000. Jacob Toole then reraised to 55,000, Mercier moved all in for a total of 325,000 and Toole snap-called.
Mercier:
Toole:
Mercier was racing for his tournament life and needed to improve. Unfortunately for him, the flop was no help. The gave him some extra outs, but it was the on the river that gave him a bigger pair and the double. "I'll take it," he said in excitement. Mercier is up to around 700,000.
With about 250,000 in the pot and a flop of , Mark De Faria bet 130,000 only to have James Casement move all in. De Faria had around 300,000 remaining, which Casement had covered. After some thought, De Faria gave up the hand. Casement is up to around 900,000.
Jason Mercier was in the cutoff and put in a raise to 25,000. Action folded to Thomas Young in the big blind and he opted to reraise to 53,000. Mericer tanked, asked for a count, discovered he was covered, tanked some more, and then let the hand go. He is down to 375,000.
Michael Binger has been among the most active players in the field for the last couple orbits. We just picked up another pot involving him as he opened with a late-position raise to 28,000. A couple seats over, Anh Van Nguyen three-bet him to 63,000, but the action wasn't done yet. Binger proceeded to reraise to 138,000, and Van Nguyen tanked for a while before surrendering to the four-bet.
Derek Lerner lost most of his chips in the aforementioned hand. On the very next hand, Lerner was automatically all in from the small blind and Matt Affleck isolated with a raise.
Affleck:
Lerner:
Lerner had a decent hand considering he was all in blind, unfortunately he couldn't make a miraculous comeback as the board blanked and Affleck took down the pot with his ace high.
In middle position, Matt Affleck opened up a can of worms with a raise. Carlos Watanabe made the call next door, and Tomas Exelhauser called from the small blind too. In the big, Derek Lerner moved all in for another 176,000, sending the decision back to Affleck. He eventually folded, accidentally flashing the in the process, and Watanabe promptly called all in for 173,000. Exelhauser spent a few minutes in the tank before he too called, and the cards were on their backs with both Lerner and Watanabe at risk.
Showdown
Watanabe:
Exelhauser:
Lerner:
The flop was a good sweat as it came down to leave both all-in players needing to fade the open-ender from Exelhauser. The turn was safe, and the blank river filled out the board to send a big triple up to Watanabe. He's all the way up over 600,000 now, and the side pot gives Lerner just 6,000 lonely chips and a frown to work with.
