It's Sunday, but the online tables are going to be light by about 230 players today. That's the number who've survived Day 1 of the PokerStars.net NAPT Mohegan Sun, from a starting field of 387.
Yesterday's Day 1 saw eight levels played out for an early finish, and the leaderboard is smattered with big names. At the top of the heap is Chris Tryba, a regular in these events who's on a bit of a heater in 2011. Tryba bagged up 173,400 chips last night after a massive late triple up vaulted him into the overall lead. Vanessa Rousso (125,800), Victor Ramdin (123,100), and Adam Junglen (117,600) are in the chase pack of the top ten. Ramdin is looking for another deep run at a PokerStars-staffed event, though his win at The Big Event in March was not an official NAPT win.
We've got three WSOP World Champions in the mix, too. Joe Cada (18,500), Jonathan Duhamel (23,800), and Carlos Mortensen (107,400) are still forces to be reckoned with. The 2003 champ, Chris Moneymaker, was an early casualty of Day 1.
Cards go in the air in about 20 minutes, at high noon local time. We'll be back with the shuffle up and deal, so don't wander off!
Level: 9
Blinds: 500/1,000
Ante: 100
The cards are in the air for Day 2 of the 2011 North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun Main Event! Six levels will be played today with a 15-minute break after every level. The levels are 75 minutes long today.
Vanessa Rousso raised to 2,800 from middle position and found one caller, the player on the button.
The flop came down and Rousso checked. Her opponent did the same and they saw the hit the turn. Rousso bet 3,000, but was quickly called. The fell on the river and Rousso bet 7,000. Her opponent called, but saw the bad news when Rousso tabled for Broadway. Her opponent flashed while he watched the chips head Rousso's way.

"You don't mess around, do you?" Eddy Sabat asked the dealer rhetorically. At Sabat's Table 3, each of the first two hands have seen all-ins-and-calls. The second one saw Alfonso Cammarota doubling up Christopher Gagg when his fell to . It's possible Cammarota doubled someone else the hand before, because this latest loss leaves him with just about 15,000 chips to play with.
Jeff Madsen, Anthony Gregg and Yakov Hirsch had all the money in preflop. Hirsch had the least amount of chips and held the . Madsen had the second least amount and held the . Gregg had both of his opponents covered and held the .
The flop came down and Madsen took the lead with a pair of jacks. Gregg added an open-ended straight draw, but two of his nines were occupied by Hirsch and one ace by Madsen
The turn brought the and Madsen still had the lead, but had to dodge even more outs as Hirsch picked up a diamond flush draw. Any diamond, ace, nine, king would leave Madsen crippled, but when the fell on the river he was able to breathe a big sigh of relief.

Action folded to Jason Wheeler in the cutoff seat and he raised to 2,400. David Paredes on the button, Bernard Lee in the small blind and Joseph Cappuccio in the big blind all gave him action with a four-way flop to follow.
The flop came down and action checked to Wheeler. He bet 5,000 with only Paredes sticking around to the turn.
The turn brought the and both players checked to see the fall on the river. Both checked again.
Paredes turned over the and Wheeler mucked his hand.
In middle position, 2009 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Cada opened to 2,200. Next to act was 2010 WSOP Main Event Champion Jonathan Duhamel and he re-raised all in for roughly 25,000. On the button, Akos Molnar re-shoved for about 40,000. Action folded back to Cada and he snap-called for his remaining 15,100.

Duhamel:
Molnar:
Not the best spot for Duhamel and he would find no help from the board as it ran out losing the side pot to Molnar and the main pot to Cada.
