Another Pot for Antonio

Antonio Esfandiari has been extensively involved over at his table here in the early goings on Day 1b. After he fired a bet on the flop of {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, one player called and they went to see the {3-Spades} fall on the turn.

Esfandiari fired again, this time for 1,400. His opponent quickly called. The final community card was the {4-Hearts} and Esfandiari settled on a bet of 3,100. His opponent disgustedly mucked his hand, allowing Esfandiari to move up to 45,000 in chips.

High Rollers Tangle

Kabhrel lost this battle
Kabhrel lost this battle

In this battle of high rollers, Martin Kabrhel and Ori Miller tangled on a flop of {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. There was 650 in the middle when Kabrhel check-raised a flop bet from Miller to 1,575. Miller then reraised to 4,500. After some time in the tank, Kabrhel made it 7,500. Miller thought for a tiny bit more and then moved all in. Kabrhel snap-folded and Miller tabled the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Miller moved to 30,000 in chips while Kabrhel dropped to 35,000.

Minor Hit for Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi raised to 300 from the cutoff and was faced with a raise to 1,000 by the player on the button. Mizzi called and the flop came down {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

After checking to his opponent and seeing a bet of 1,400, Mizzi gave it up. He is currently sitting with a stack of about 34,400.

Esfandiari Moves Up

The first player to act on the flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} fired out a bet of 1,225. The next player in the hand folded before action fell on Antonio Esfandiari. He fired in a raise to 3,300 and was called.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and completed a possible diamond flush. The first player led out again, betting 3,000 this time. Esfandiari raised to 8,000 and his opponent folded, allowing "The Magician" to move to 44,000 chips.

Back to the Grind for Bukara and Miller

About twelve hours ago, Perica Bukara and Ori Miller were battling heads up for the High Roller Freeze-Out title. Bukara eventually emerged as champion, but now they are back on the felt for Day 1b of the Main Event.

Both must feel relieved, playing with a lot less pressure after securing hefty paydays. Both are motivated, though, to do more than just settle on those finishes. They have the drive to win and will be looking to repeat their successes in the Main Event.

Fourth-place finisher David Benyamine has taken his seat as well. We expect third-place finisher Andrew Feldman to play today and perhaps fifth-place finisher Jon Turner, though he was feeling ill during the final table yesterday.

Benyamine Increasing Early

Four players, inlcuding David Benyamine and Ben Roberts, saw a flop come {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Benyamine was first to act and fired 1,400 into the pot of 1,700. All three of his opponents folded and Benyamine picked up the pot. He's up to 33,000 here after registering late for the event. He still has his rebuy/add-on available as well.

Big River Bet Into Antonio

Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

A player in early position raised to 125 and Antonio Esfandiari flat-called on the button before the big blind three-bet to 375. The original raiser folded, but Esfandiari wanted to see a flop and made the call.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and the big blind bet out 375 with Esfandiari tossing in the call. The turn card then added the {K-Spades} to the board and the big blind bet out 375. Esfandiari called again to see the {A-Spades} come down on the river. The big blind upped his bet this time and made it a much larger 3,725. Esfandiari folded and dropped to 39,300 in chips.
