Welcome back to the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure! Today is Day 1 of the $25,000 High Roller event, and we expect to see a plethora of the world's best players fill the Imperial Ballroom here at the Atlantis to compete for the glory, the fame, and, of course, the cash money.
Will Molson won this event last year, taking home just over $1 million for his efforts, and it was the third straight year he reached heads-up play. The third straight year. In 2009, the Canadian pro finished runner-up to Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. in 2010, Will Reynolds defeated Molson heads up. And last year, Molson finally got over the hump, defeating PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez.
All-in-all, Molson has cashed for over $1.6 million in this event, and he will look to add to that total in the coming days. The road will be tough however - we expect to see very tough competitors, including Jonathan Duhamel, Daniel Negreanu, Joe Cada, Vanessa Selbst, Ty Reiman, Chino Rheem, Shannon Shorr, the aforementioned Grospellier, and plenty more.

The 2009 and 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champions are seated beside one another here in the Imperial Ballroom, and they've both had success thus far at the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Last night, Team PokerStars Pro Joe Cada shipped a $2,000 side event, banking $175,550. It was his biggest cash since winning the Main Event in 2009 - his previous biggest cash came at last year's PCA, where he finished 11th in this event for $51,450. Fellow Team Pro Jonathan Duhamel has had an incredible PCA - he's made three final tables, including the $100,000 Super High Roller (4th, $313,600), a $5,000 Turbo Eight-Max Event (5th, $17,990), and a he won the $5,000 Eight-Max Event ($239,830).
Both players have certainly performed like champions this week, and we'll keep an eye on them as the day progresses.
The field size for this $25,000 High Roller is up to 105 with about 15 minutes left in the field level. Last year, the field Will Molson topped was 151 players strong. With registration open for a full four levels of play in this one, we should see things get up near that same mark.
