Sands is "Gonna F***in' Play 'Em"

Prior to counting their stacks, Scott Seiver offered to do a chip chop plus five percent. He told David Sands that believes he has an edge heads up, to which Sands said, "Maybe if we were 800 big blinds deep."

"Well yeah," Seiver answered. "I would have a huge then."

Seiver believes that he has a ten-percent edge, and his five-percent offer is half of what he expects.

Sands didn't think the deal was realistic, and went to talk with Tom Marchese.

"I'm just gonna to f***in' play 'em," Sands said.

The two have agreed to disagree, and will continue without making a deal.

There was then a break so that the television crew could re-adjust, prompting Sands to blurt, "They know we're playing a tournament and not just making a TV show, right?"

Running Jacks for Sands

Scott Seiver opened to 320,000 on the button, David Sands called, and the flop fell {3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Both players checked. The turn was {j-Diamonds}, Sands led out for 444,000, and Seiver called.

The {j-Clubs} completed the board, and Sands led again - this time for 970,000. Seiver called, and Sands showed {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Seiver went to muck, but before he could, Robbie Thompson asked him to show his cards to the camera one more time.

"I showed them three times," Seiver shot at him. "My God, this is getting ridiculous."

His hand: {q-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Both players are a bit testy right now, whether it be because of the cameras or the non deal.

Seiver Takes A Little From Sands

David "Doc" Sands opened for 320,000 from the small blind with {K-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Scott Seiver defended from the big with {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop gave Seiver a pair of jacks and Sands a gut-shot straight draw, but both opted to check.

The action repeated itself on the {2-Hearts} turn, and then Seiver decided to bet 200,000 on the {2-Diamonds} river. Sands gave it some consideration, tossed in a call, and then watched the pot pushed to his opponent.

One for Seiver

Scott Seiver opened to 320,000 on the button with {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}, David Sands three-bet to 820,000 with unknown holdings, and Seiver folded.

Sands limped in with a {3-Spades}, Seiver checked with {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and the flop was {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Seiver check-called a 380,000-chip bet from Sands, and the turn was the {a-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The river was the {j-Diamonds}, Seiver led out for 250,000, and Sands folded.

Sands Rivers Two Pair; Doesn't Get Paid

After David "Doc" Sands had opened for 320,000 from the small blind with {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Scott Seiver defended from the big with {K-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and then check-called a bet of 340,000 on the {5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} flop. Both players proceeded to check the {7-Clubs} turn, and then Seiver checked for a third time on the {7-Clubs} river.

Sands took his time before sliding out a big bet of 920,000, and Seiver eyed him up for about ten seconds before sliding his hand to the muck.

Diamonds are Forever

David Sands opened to 320,000 on the button with an unknown hand, Scott Seiver called with {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, and the flop was {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. Seiver checked, Sands continued for 370,000, and Seiver quickly called.

The turn was the {q-Spades}, Seiver checked again, and Sands checked behind.

The {2-Diamonds} completed the board, and both players checked. Sands showed {j-Spades}{9-Spades}, which couldn't beat Seiver's flush.

Seiver Closing The Gap

Scott Seiver opened for 320,000 from the button with {K-Spades}{10-Spades} only to have David "Doc" Sands three-bet to 860,000 from the big (he only showed the {3-Diamonds} to the camera).

"Let's see a flop," Seiver said before making the call. Both players checked the {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, and then Seiver led out for 1.1 million on the {9-Hearts} turn. It was enough to get the job done as Sands folded his hand.

"Nines Make the Most Sets"

Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Scott Seiver opened to 400,000 on the button with two red nines, David Sands three-bet to 900,000 with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and Seiver immediately went all in for 6.22 million. Sands snapped it off.

"As JC [Alvarado] says, nines make the most sets," Seiver announced.

There was a nine in the window of the {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, giving Seiver a set.

"I still feel like I'm going to win," Sands said.

He was wrong. The turn and river came {4-Clubs}, {6-Hearts} respectively, and Seiver shipped a massive double.
