Another Monster for Levy

Lisa Walsh loves sitting behind a mountain of chips, and when the action folded to her in late position she decided to open with a raise to 6,500. Grant Levy floated with a call in the cutoff, and Sean Cochrane came along for the ride from the small blind.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Cochrane checked to Walsh, who continued with a 11,000 chip bet. Levy and Cochrane both called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and the action checked to Levy who fired out 27,000. Cochrane then moved all in for 65,000 in total. Walsh folded and Levy made the call.

Levy tabled {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the straight, to leave Cochrane in trouble with his {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The river was a meaningless {A-Hearts} and Levy took another huge pot to jump way out in front with close to 360,000 chips!

Kakalis Crippled

Nicholas Kakalis opened on the button for a raise to 7,600. Peter Kaltzidis folded his small blind, but Nauvneel Kashyap shipped it all in from the big blind, sliding out all 63,400 of his chips. Kakalis made the call, having his opponent just slightly covered.

Showdown:
Kakalis: {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Kashyap: {A-Spades} {8-Hearts}

With Kashyap all in for his tournament livelihood, the flop was a big dry desert. It came down {3-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {9-Spades}. The turn brought the at-risk player a big sigh of relief, as the {A-Clubs} vaulted him back into the lead. The river was the {10-Clubs}, and Nauvneel Kashyap does indeed earn the double-up. He is now up to 131,000, while Nicholas Kakalis is left sitting with just two lonely black T100 chips.

Silva Busts Darscht

Serge Darscht moved all in for his last 11,000 chips and was called by Augusto Silva. Silva held {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} and Darscht {2-Clubs} {2-Spades}.

The flop was gold for Silva, giving him top pair when it came {Q-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the river the {J-Hearts}. Silva was able to eliminate Darscht and received a few cheers from his railbirds.

Dalessandri Doubles Through Saab

John Dalessandri has just doubled up to 70,000 in chips courtesy of a timely aces-over-kings match-up in a hand against David Saab and Andrew Demetriou.

With approximately 21,000 in the pot and the board showing {8-Hearts} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds}, Saab led out with a 9,000 bet. Dalessandri then moved all in, Demetriou folded and Saab made the call:

Showdown:
Saab: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Dalessandri: {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}

The board then ran out {10-Spades}, {10-Clubs} and Dalessandri's aces held up to earn him the pot.

Afterward, Saab was left with 180,000 in chips while Dalessandri improved to 70,000. Demetriou claimed that he'd folded {Q-?} {J-?} and would've made a straight on the turn.

"The Voice" Silenced

Paul "The Voice" Khoury - Eliminated
Paul "The Voice" Khoury - Eliminated
After a raise to 6,000, three men made it to a flop that came down {Q-Spades} {3-Spades} {10-Diamonds}. Action was checked over to James Frendo on the button, and he bet 16,000 with position. Paul Khoury was sitting with 42,000, and he made his move, check-raising all in over the top. Frendo was the lone caller, putting Khoury's tournament life in the balance.

Showdown:
Frendo: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
Khoury: {A-Spades} {5-Spades}

Khoury was behind, looking for a spade or running cards to stay alive. The turn wasn't a spade, but the {5-Clubs} did provide a couple of more outs for the at-risk player. The river blanked off though, as the {2-Clubs} spelled the end for "The Voice." He shipped the rest of his checks over to Frendo, who now sits with 144,000.

Levy Eliminates Two in Dramatic Fashion

Grant Levy
Grant Levy
A huge hand has just gone down on the feature table, as Grant Levy relayed the details to us.

According to Levy, he opened with a raise to 5,500 from early position, before Kasper Nielsen moved all in for his last 21,000. James Honeybone then came over the top of both players for around 33,000 in total. With two players all in, Levy said, "Let's gamble!" and made the call.

Showdown:
Levy: {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Nielsen: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Honeybone: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to give Levy and incredible running flush to send two players to the exit in dramatic fashion!

The 2007 APPT Grand Final Champion is now leading from the front with a massive 234,000 chips!

Showdown:
Blaas: {8-Spades} {9-Hearts}
Comer: {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {4-Spades}, and Comer's ace high played. He earns a double-up to 42,500, while Blaas has been knocked back to 72,000.

Croc's Courageous Call

Billy "The Croc" Argyros recently made an impressive call over on Table 10 -- the kind of call our online friends might consider, "Sick."

Preflop, Marc Des Anges opened with a 5,000 raise from middle position and Argyros made the call in the big blind. Before the dealer spread the {K-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} flop, Argyros checked dark. Des Anges checked behind.

The {4-Hearts} was the next card off the deck and Croc attempted to take control of the hand with a 10,000 bet. Des Anges wasn't having it, and raised it up to 25,000; Croc made the call.

Croc checked dark again on fifth street ({9-Diamonds}) and Des Anges fired a 25,000 bullet. Croc went into the tank and talked the hand through out loud before eventually making the call:

Showdown:
Argyros: {3-Spades} {3-Clubs}
Des Anges: {A-Diamonds} {8-Spades}

Croc's single pair of threes proved good when Des Anges tabled ace high and the dealer pushed the pot in Croc's direction, putting him at 150,000 in chips. Des Anges dropped to 85,000 in the loss.

Huang Eliminates Mountt

Bryan Huang, who has cashed in all three APPT events this season including a final table in Macau, has just cracked the 100,000 barrier after eliminating Danny Mountt.

All the chips were in on the flop of {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} with Huang holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for top pair, top kicker, as Mountt would need to find another club holding {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the nut flush draw.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and river the {10-Hearts}, missing Mountt, to eliminate him from the tournament as Huang is looking good for another cash result.
