Two Double Ups

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Tien Than Nguyen was all in and at risk for 130,000 with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Sam Razavi looked him up with {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. The board of {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} kept the better preflop hand in the lead and Nguyen doubled.

Over on table two, Corbin White shoved for 86,000 with the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} from the button and Rajeev Kanjani called with {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and White got there to double.

Peters Chips Up

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

After a cutoff raise by Uday Bansal, Andre Peters three-bet to 103,000 in the small blind and Bansal called. The flop came {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Spades} and a bet of Peters did the trick.

Soon after, Yo Seb Rhee was the aggressor and picked up calls by Peters on the button and Raphael Gall in the big blind. The flop of {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} saw a check by Gall, a bet of 100,000 by Rhee and a call of Peters, while Gall folded. The {6-Clubs} appeared on the turn and Rhee check-folded to a bet of 150,000 by Peters.

Bansal Pushes Off Brunner

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Brunner opened the action with a raise to 45,000 in the cutoff and Uday Bansal made the call from the button.

The flop came down {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Brunner fired out a continuation-bet of a pot sized 90,000, Bansal called once more and the dealer burned and turned the {10-Hearts} to pair the board.

Brunner slowed down with a check and Bansal thought it over for a minute before deciding the right amount to bet was 101,000 and Brunner folded immediately. Brunner dropped to 400,000 after that fold while Bansal climbed to 1.7 million.

Lee Triples as Palanisamy and White Chop

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

A short-stacked Thomas Lee moved all-in from under-the-gun for his last 59,000 and Vikram Palanisamy made the call in middle position before Corbin White re-shoved all-in from the button for another 124,000. Palanisamy asked for a count and made the call and the cards were turned over.

Thomas Lee: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Vikram Palanisamy:{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Corbin White:{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Lee was in bad shape but hit the perfect flop, which came down {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The {7-Spades}n turn and {5-Hearts} river saw Lee improve to a full house to triple up to over 200,000 while Palanisamy and White chopped up the side pot and dropped to 200,000 and 122,000 respectively.

Bansal Busts Tanaka

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Masatoshi Tanaka
Masatoshi Tanaka

Uday Bansal opened the action with a raise to 40,000 from under-the-gun and Masatoshi Tanaka defended from the big blind to take play heads-up to a flop of {8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Tanaka checked the action over to Bansal, who continuation bet around a half pot-sized bet and Tanaka check-raised all-in for 309,000 in total. Bansal thought it over for a minute or so before tossing out a blue 1k chip to represent the call and the cards were turned over.

Masatoshi Tanaka: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Uday Bansal: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Tanaka was the at risk player but had outs with a straight draw and overcards. Unfortunately for the Japanese player the {5-Spades} turn and {7-Clubs} river were of no help and he departed in 30th place for a PHP148,000 payday while Bansal stacked up to 1.32 million.

Zak Runs Out of Chips

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Elan Zak
Elan Zak

At almost at the same time as Masatoshi Tanaka, it was Elan Zak that ran out of chips and had to settle for 29th place. Zak got into some table banter with Chi Thinh Nguyen after a raise was already pulled in and Zak was at risk for another 140,000 on top. Ultimately, the chatter got Nguyen to call with the words "okay I am in" and Zak applauded with "let's gamble."

Elan Zak: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Chi Thinh Nguyen: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Nguyen paired his jack on the {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, and the {4-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river failed to improve Zak. Both players shook hands before Zak headed out of the tournament area.

Falcon Runs Big Bluff Against Rhee

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Yo Seb Rhee raised to 28,000 and Michael Falcon called in the small blind. The flop came {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Falcon check-called a bet of 35,000. On the {Q-Clubs} turn, Falcon check-raised from 75,000 to 200,000 and Rhee took some time before electing to call.

After the {4-Hearts} river, Falcon bet 350,000 and that represented almost half of Rhee's stack. The Japanese folded and Falcon showed {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} with the words "my first bluff of the day."

Bansal Busts Shultz

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jeffrey Shultz
Jeffrey Shultz

Soon after coming back from the break, Jeffrey Shultz was all in from the small blind, in fact it was the very first hand. He was called by at least two players, but Uday Bansal's bet on the {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop isolated successfully.

Jeffrey Shultz: {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Uday Bansal: {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The {K-Spades} turn left Shultz drawing dead, making the {A-Diamonds} river a formality.
