After 12 levels of play, Chao Huang emerged as the Day 1 chip leader of Event #15: $1,200 5-Card PLO High Championship after bagging 550,000 in chips. Not far behind him is Marshall Roof, who managed to bag up 518,000 chips.
Huang flew under the radar for most of the day and had a late-night surge after eliminating Tony Moyers in the last level of the day. Huang will come into Day 2 in a great position to add to his $20,781 in live-tournament earnings, according to The Hendon Mob.

Day 1 began with 12 entrants and by the time late registration ended, that number had grown to 69 — generating a $75,900 prize pool. Some notables who entered but fell short of Day 2 include Robert McLaughlin, Dongwuk Moon, Michael Lerner, Pearce Arnold, and Event #4: $500 5-Card PLO champion Manuel Herrera, who couldn't seem to get any momentum and busted out earlier in the day without re-entering.
The final ten players will return on February 6 at 2 p.m. and play down to a winner. The money bubble will burst after two more players are eliminated. Here's what they will be playing for in addition to the championship trophy:

Eight players will make the money. A min-cash will be worth $3,036 and the eventual winner will take home $25,806 in addition to the trophy.

The player in the hijack limped and Pearce Arnold raised to 15,000 from the button. Matt Mullins called in the big blind and the limper called as well.
Everyone checked on the flop and it was checked to Arnold on the turn — prompting a 20,000 bet from Arnold. Only Mullins called.
The completed the board and Mullins checked a final time. Arnold bet 25,000 and was quickly called by Mullins.
Arnold showed for a flush and Arnold mucked — conceding the pot to Arnold.
