McKellar Check-Raises Spruitenburg

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Pierce McKellar opened from under-the-gun to 6,500 but was then three-bet to 18,500 by Jeffery Spruitenburg in the cutoff. Ekrem Bozkurt made the call from the but and it folded back to McKellar who made the call.

The three of them went to a flop of 5Q9 and McKellar checked to Spruitenburg who continued for 30,000 which produced a fold from Bozkurt and a call from McKellar.

What you got, a flush draw?" Spruitenburg joked to McKellar as the turn came out the A and McKellar checked again.

Spruitenburg fired again for 30,000 but then McKellar check-raised all in to cover him, which resulted in a hast fold from Spruitenburg to award McKellar the pot.

Meanwhile, Bozkurt was kicking himself after admitting he folded ace-king.

Jolly and Wang Learn to Share

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Anubhav Jolly opened to 5,000 from under-the-gun and Jeff Platt made the call from the button while both blinds defended.

The four of them went to a flop of A7Q and Jolly continued for 12,000 after it was checked to him. Platt and Jonathan Wang in the big blind made the call and they went three ways to a turn Q.

Wang checked to Jolly who fired again for a healthy sizing of 26,000 which produced a fold from Platt but Wang decided to stick around and see the 6 fall on the river.

Wang checked once more and Jolly decided to check back and tabled A8 for a flopped two pair but then Wang flipped over A8 for the same hand and they chopped the pot.

Reid Reaps Reward

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a heads-up river on a board that read A9K102, the pot was already around 75,000 when Ariel Reed moved all in for 77,000 and sent his opponent, John Kenner, deep into the tank.

Kenner, who won last week's Monolith event, was debating his options for over a minute and still seemed like his decision could go either way.

"You show if I fold?" he asked Ariel, trying to get some kind of read, but Ariel did not reply and kept the same stone-faced look.

"Alright," Kenner finally said as set out chips to make the call and tabled 99 for a flopped set of nines but it was no good as Ariel tabled 78 for a turned flush to take down the pot for a big double.

O'Donnell Knew it was Coming

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Short-stacked Mario Lopez moved all in preflop for his last 12,000 and Kevin O'Donnell made the call from middle position. The rest of the players got out of the way and the cards were tabled.

Mario Lopez: A2
Kebin O'Donnell: Q9

Lopez was in the lead with his ace-high, but by the turn K107J, he was drawing dead to a queen as O'Donnell made a king-high straight. The river bricked out with the 2 to give O'Donnell the win and Lopez was sent to the rail.

"The guy called me with the queen-nine with 100 people behind him?! Unbelievable," Lopez said as he made his way to the exit.
