Roth Raising The Ante

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jeff Roth
Jeff Roth

There was a raise to 2,700 that saw two callers before Jeff Roth made it 14,500. Two players folded before the third jammed 50,000-plus with jack-king off.

Roth called with two kings and held to put some space between him and the rest of the remaining field.

Smashing The Flop

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Bob Doren
Bob Doren

Bob Doren has hit just about every flop, turn and river today.

In fact, he's made a series of huge hands that have vaulted him up to chip boss position with a six-figure stack. This included making quad aces and having the good fortune of a player pushing all in against him.

Doren is actually the first player past the six-figure mark today and leads as the field settles in to the post registration and reentry period.

Free Reentry

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Mark Roberts
Mark Roberts

Mark Roberts made it 2,000 to go and a player shoved in behind for a little less than 15,000. Matt Marcinkiewicz then sprung into action, putting in a stack of yellow and coming over the top all in.

With just a few minutes left in the last level for registration and reentry, Roberts said screw it and called for his last 11,500 total holding the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Marcinkiewicz had the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} and the third player in the hand had {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. However, Roberts got the free reentry and more, making his flush on a {7-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades} board.

The Truth About Jimmmy J

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Mitchell Gasiorowski
Mitchell Gasiorowski

Orchard Park, NY's Mitchell Gasiorowski, otherwise known as Jimmmy J with three m's, or Tony, depending on who is asking, has moved up to spot among the chip leaders.

Apparently he made a straight in a big pot early to climb the counts, but the details of the hand were as sketchy as his many nom de plumes, making it unclear exactly how Mitchell/Jimmmy/Tony built the stack.

Either way, he's right in the thick of it, and will likely have to pay taxes on anything he earns here now after being untimely exposed by PokerNews.

One Of Those Nights

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Ray Williams
Ray Williams

It was a late night for 'Buffalo' Ray Williams Thursday.

He made it all the way to the seven-handed chop in the Summer Slam $1,000 High Roller last night, cashing for $8,676 after getting in through a satellite. As a result, he didn't get home until after 2 a.m. and turned up just a few minutes ago to get in on the action today.

It has been a few good minutes, though, as Williams has managed to run it up to 50,000 already.

It was pocket aces on one hand, then big slick turning into trip kings on the next, and the streaky Williams is suddenly among the leaders here two days in a row
