A few weeks ago, the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) made a stop at Sycuan Casino Resort in San Diego and the Main Event drew a prize pool of $444,700.

Gianluca Pace of Encinitas, California took home the trophy and the top prize of $74,562 following a four-way deal. Anthony Pitesa ($61,194), DJ Buckley ($58,631), and Huy Nguyen ($41,487) were involved in the deal and the four players took home the biggest chunk of the prize pool.

McClymont Check-Raises Platt

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Jeff Platt four-bet preflop in middle position and went to a flop with Kim McClymont in the big blind.

There was roughly 25,000 in the pot as the flop fell {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. McClymont checked and Platt bet 7,000. McClymont raised and Platt instantly folded.

"I don't know why I didn't just check. Could've seen such a pretty turn card," said Platt.

After the hand, McClymont revealed she had aces.

"Just say I folded kings," Platt told PokerNews.

McClymont raked in the chips, and Platt still holds almost double starting stack following his suspiciously good laydown with "kings".

Moreno Triples in First Hand

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno
Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno

Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno recounted the first hand he played after taking his seat.

Two players limped and a player in late position raised to 2,300. Moreno called in the big blind and the two limpers called.

The flop came {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Moreno led for 3,500, one limper called, one limper folded, and the late position player moved all in. Moreno called and so did the limper.

Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno: {8-}{8-}
Limper: {6-Spades}{2-Spades}
Late Position: {k-}{k-}

The {7-Hearts} turn meant Moreno needed to fade additional outs, and the {10-Hearts} completed the board to confirm the early triple for the popular poker vlogger, as he hopes it's an early sign of more good fortune to come while he makes a run for the trophy.
