Gardenhire Takes a Hit

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We arrived in time to see Justin Gardenhire and two other players looking down at a flop of {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Gardenhire was first to act and led at the pot for 1,250. His first opponent called and the next folded, leaving two players heads up to fourth street.

The dealer produced the {Q-Hearts} on the turn and Gardenhire continued his aggression with a bet of 2,800. His opponent stayed the course, allowing the duo to see the {7-Hearts} grace the felt on the river. Gardenhire fired 3,000 only to have his opponent instantly come over the top for 15,000 total. Gardenhire flashed a smile while he sat riffling his chips.

"Do you have the ten of hearts in your hand?" Gardenhire asked his opponent. He received no reply.

After about 30 seconds, Gardenhire kicked his cards into the muck and the pot was pushed to the other end of the table. With this hit, Gardenhire's stack is down to roughly 13,000 in chips.

Maria Ho Will Not Be Pushed Around

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Maria Ho opened to 400 from the hijack and David Tuthill popped it up to 1,100 one seat to her left. It was folded back to Ho who made the call.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Ho tapped her pinkie on the table indicating a check. Tuthill threw out a T1,000 chip bet while stating a bet of 800 and then grabbed the yellow chip and put out the exact amount. Ho wasted little time in making the call.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and Ho tapped her pinkie again and after a few seconds of thought Tuthill checked behind.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Ho once again pinkie checked. Tuthill verbally announced a bet of 1,400 and placed the chips into the middle. Ho made the call and Tuthill turned over {9-}{8-Spades} for a missed gutterball straight draw. Ho tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and was rewarded the pot for her excellent call.

Bullets For Irani

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Zal Irani opened to 500 from under the gun and found a call from the next seat over. Action trickled around to the player in the small blind who tossed out a call. The big blind folded, leaving the trio to see a flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

The small blind checked and Irani continued for 1,500. Action folded back to the small blind who called. The {5-Clubs} hit the felt on fourth street and action checked to the aggressor once more. Irani bet 3,000, eliciting a fold from his opponent. Irani showed {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} for top set and raked in the pot.

Despite this win, Irani is still under starting stack with about 19,000 in chips.

Show For $100?

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
David "ODB" Baker
David "ODB" Baker

We got to the table with approximately 8,000 in the pot and a bet of 2,800 sitting in front of David "ODB" Baker in the small blind. The board showed {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and his lone opponent made the call.

The river was the {6-Spades} and Baker led out for 9,100 causing some discomfort from his opponent.

"Trying to make me fold aces?" he asked Baker, who said nothing in return.

Baker's foe looked back at his cards and slammed a black T100 chip on top of his stack. "Take it down," he said, sliding his cards into the middle and then added "Show for $100?"

"$100? Sure," Baker said, tabling {7-}{7-} for a flopped set. His opponent handed him a crisp bill, feeling a little bit better about his fold.
