The first event of a 28-event schedule at Playground Poker Room's World Cup of Cards has finished. There were 161 players all vying for the 13 Day 2 spots. In the end, Brent Mccue just missed Day 2 when he got all in preflop against Kathy Sawers with . Sawers had and held. She will enter Day 2 with 169,800.
Nick-Real Seide was eliminated just before Mccue after having the chip lead for a good portion of the day. [Removed:105] took over the chip lead and ended the day with 399,100, almost 100,000 ahead of Eric Ranger who finished with the second largest stack (301,900).
Day 2 will be Sept. 13th, but until then each of the players who cashed today can play one of the nine remaining starting flights. If they make Day 2 again, they forfeit their smaller stack and earn CAD $400 on top of the CAD $1,500 for the forfeited stack. Day 1b starts Saturday at 7 p.m. local time.

Brent Mccue was eliminated by Kathy Sawers when the two got all in preflop.
Mccue had against the of Sawers. The flop came all club, , but the turn and the river didn't change the outcome and Sawers won the hand. Mccue was eliminated in 14th place and the remaining 13 players are through to Day 2 and have each earned a CAD $400 payday.

Poker can be a cruel game. Fast structures can make it even more so. Nick-Real Seide experienced his fair share in the last few hands. After losing 40% of his stack in a previous had, a few hands later he lost another 75% against Aidan Quin.
With just 29,000 left, Seide spent the last few hands moving all-in preflop. Seide found a double up against Albert N when his caught a nine on the river against Albert's . A hand later Seide found himself behind with against an opponent's . Seide couldn't find any help and has been elliminated.

A three-way all-in saw a huge shift in chips across table 54. Nick-Real Seide had both Albert N and Prosper [Removed:250]'s tournament lives on the line as both men were all-in preflop.

The board ran out giving Albert N top pair and the monster triple up. [Removed:250] took down the side pot almost the same size as the main pot leaving his stack about the same. Unfortunately Seide had the worst of it taking a huge hit.

There are 15 players heading to a 15-minute break. The remaining players in Day 1a of the Quantam No Limit Hold em tournament are just two eliminations away from bagging up for Day 2. Day 2 will be on Sept. 13th. Each player who makes Day 2 will take home CAD $400 and be able to come back tomorrow, or during any other starting flight, for a chance to cash again.
