Srouring Success

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Big double up for Eli Srour, he pushed all in for 12,100 on the {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} board and Kiryl Radzavonau deliberated before making the call with {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}, in bad shape against Srour's {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The {A-Spades} came on the river (because the ace of spades ALWAYS comes on the river). Srour has about 50,000 now while Radzavonau isn't too unhappy, he still has 55,000.

Ziyard Pulls Oguz's Chain

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Zimnan Ziyard has just helped himself to a couple of thousand of Yilmaz Oguz's chips and although he is not up there with the chip leaders right now, he does look comfortable.

It was Oguz who opened the betting, raising to 650 from the hijack seat. Ziyard was in the big blind and when the action passed around to him he put in a three-bet to 1,525. Oguz made the call without much thought and it was heads-up to the {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop.

Ziyard checked the flop and Oguz checked behind. There was no such passivity on the {2-Hearts} turn as Ziyard lead out for 2,750 and a puzzled Oguz got out of the way.

"Did you have a big hand?" quizzed Oguz

"I had a big hand," said a smiling Ziyard before adding, "I had {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts},"

Ziyard then admitted to being less than truthful and said that he in fact held {2-}{2-}; but we are unsure about how close to the truth that is either.

Chouit Petite

Nicolas Chouity
Nicolas Chouity

Nicolas Chouity will be back playing tomorrow if he wants to win WPT Cyprus. With over 22,000 already in the pot, his opponent checked across to him on the river of a {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{K-Clubs} board. Chouity pushed all in for about 15,000 or so but his opponent, after about 30 seconds made the call.

Chouity shook his head and incidentally threw his cards deep into the muck, leaving the table, his opponent winning the large pot with {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Cajelais Continues To Climb

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Erik Cajelais just keeps adding to his stack and he is definitely one to watch in this event.

The action folded to him on the button and he set the price to play at 700. The small blind then three-bet to 2,200 and quickly called when Cajelais four-bet to 5,400.

The duo shared a flop reading {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}, the small blind checked then mucked the second Cajelais bet 4,800.

Ojeil Bets Big Out Of The big Blind

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Manig Loeser was the player to open the betting, making it 700 to play from his seat in the cutoff. Yilmaz Oguz is seated to his direct left and he called and after the button and small blind folded Chadi Ojeil stuck in a three-bet to 1,850.

Loeser looked a little pained to be letting his hand go but that is exactly what he did. Almost instantly after Loeser had folded, Oguz's hand went into the muck.

"I am in a good position," said Ojeil rather inexplicably.

Ferengi's Rule of Acquisition

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Just before the break, Dominik Nitsche had opened to 525, getting one caller before Necip Ferengizbilge made it 2,225 from middle position.

Nitsche called and the other player folded leaving the action heads-up.

Both players checked the {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop before Nitsche fired out 1,625 on the {9-Diamonds} turn. Ferengizbilge made the call and the river was the {9-Clubs}, Nitsche firing out 2,500 this time but he did not seem so comfortable when Ferengizbilge made it 8,000 to go.

The German wasn't for folding though, he made the call and Ferengizbilge could only turn over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Nitsche scooping the pot with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Chris Moorman Busts Just Before The Break

Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman wrote on his Twitter feed this morning that he was heading to the casino in search of his first WPT cash. Well, if he is to achieve that goal he is going to have to re-enter the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic Main Event on Day 1b as he has just busted out.

Moorman opened to 525 from early position only to see Andrei Taranu three-bet to 1,275 from the button in a carbon copy of this hand; only this time there was a completely different ending.

Moorman went into the tank for around 90-seconds before emerging with an all-in bet of 7,025 and he knew he was in trouble when Taranu beat him into the pot with a call.

Moorman: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Taranu: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The British superstar picked up a gutshot straight draw upon the arrival of the {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop but when the turn and river were the {a-Clubs} and {3-Hearts} respectively, it was game over for Moorman. See you tomorrow sir.
