Moor Than One Entry?

Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman was looking at a {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop against Murat Kilic, the latter tossing out a bet of 500. Moorman raised to 1,175 before Kilic came back with a three-bet to 3,000.

Moorman flat-called and Kilic casually tossed out a bet of 4,500 on the {J-Spades}, as nonchalantly as if he was tossing a penny into a wishing well. The Brit, currently living in Cyprus, made the call again to see the {9-Diamonds} river which ostensibly seemed to be a blank.

Kilic threw out 7,000 and Moorman did not take too long in making the call but had to muck when Kilic showed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Moorman has about 12,500 remaining, Kilic is up to 42,000.

Zimmy Loses Out To "The Cowboy"

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

British pro Zimnan Ziyard opened the betting with a raise to 225 from early position and the player to his immediate left, Artur Voskanyan, made the call. The hand became three-handed when Yilmaz "The Cowboy" Oguz called from the small blind. We are not sure if he is actually known as The Cowboy but his Stetson hat and his blue and white poncho give that impression.

The first three community cards fell {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and the action folded to Ziyard who then continued with a bet of 275. This folded out Voskanyan but Oguz stuck around.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} into play and both players checked but when Oguz fired a 350 bet as soon as the {5-Diamonds} hit the felt, Ziyard got out of the way annd he insta-folded.

Matveychuk Takes Down Small Pot

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Roman Matveychuk is easy to spot in this field, the well built Russian's arms have been dedicated to his love of tattoos.

Matveychuk has a good record here in this casino, having come fourth and won back-to-back titles in the 2011 Merit Holiday Series in December 2011 and he is looking for a career best finish this time around.

He just min-raised to 200 from under the gun and it looked like he was just going to claim the blinds but at the last moment Alexey Popov called on the button and the cowboy hat sporting Yilmaz Oguz put in the extra 100 chip from the big blind.

The dealer fanned out the {j-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Oguz checked, Matveychuk confidently bet 300 and both opponents instantly folded.

Get Out of Ojeil Free Card

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Alexey Popov raised to 250 from late position, Ivan Tihov made the call before Manig Loeser three-bet to 900 from the cut-off. Chadi Ojeil took a couple of minutes before opting to flat-call from the big blind. Popov and Tihov came along for the ride as the dealer put out a flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}. This was checked around, as was the {Q-Hearts} on the turn before Ojeil fired out a bet of 1,700 on the {10-Clubs} river.

Both Russians folded and Loeser thought for a moment before reluctantly flicking in the call, Ojeil turned over {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and the German shook his head and folded, he's down to 25,000 while Ojeil has about 33,000.

German Duo Taking On Cyrpus

Two talented German pros have paid the $4,400 entry fee for Day 1a and are competing in the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic.

Manig Loeser has bought in and will have to initially contend with the EPT Loutraki champion Zimnan Ziyard over on Table 7 whilst recent World Series of Poker bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche is also in the building, we have found him over on Table 10.

Strange Decision Sees Ates Add To Stack

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Usually when a player has not been dealt any hole cards the hand is declared a misdeal and new hole cards issued, but that was ot the case just now over on Table 2.

Kursat Bayraku had opened to 250 from early position and the players started to fold their own holdings. That was until the action reached Suleyman Ciftsuren who lifted his hands up in the air to show he had not been dealt any hole cards!

"Misdeal," came the cry from more than one player; and the floor was called for.

One of the floorstaff, sporting a bright pink dress, ruled the hand was not a misdeal and that the hand should be played out. Ciftsuren did not look too pleased with the decision but he accepted it, took a drink of tea and the hand was played out.

The only caller of Bayraku's bet was the big blind, Ohran Ates who then checked the arrival of the {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop. Ates then quickly called as Bayraku made it 350 to play.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and again Ates tapped the table and checked. Bayraku showed no signs of slowing down and he set the price to play at 800 but Ates already had his calling chips in his hand and snap-called.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Ates checked for a third time. Bayraku checked behind and was shown {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} that had turned a straight.

Moorman Loses Chips; And More Weight!

Compare the Chris Moorman of today to the same one last year and he is sporting a much smaller frame after embarking on a strict fitness regime. Unfortunately for him here in Cyprus, he has also lost some precious chips too.

We joined the action on a board reading {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} and with having seen Andrei Taranu tap the table and check from the big blind seat. Moorman was sat four seats to his left and he bet 2,000; a bet that Taranu wasted little time in calling.

The river brought the {7-Diamonds} into play and Taranu checked again. Moorman checked behind and then mucked when he could not beat the {k-Spades}{q-Spades} of his sole opponent.
