Lee Wilson Wins a Monster Pot

Lee Wilson is faced with a bet of 5,000 from Timothy Miles on a board of {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Wilson thinks for a minute before announcing, "Raise." Wilson puts his call of 5,000 in the middle and then decides to raise 10,000 more.

With the pressure back on Miles, he goes into the tank for a few minutes. After a minute more of deliberation, Miles moves all in and Wilson beats him into the pot.

Miles shows {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Wilson shows {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The dealer burns and reveals the {J-Spades} for the river card, giving Wilson a straight and the winning hand.

The pot was over 65,000 in chips and Wilson is now sitting with a big stack.

Jonathan Little Takes His Own Boat Ride

Johnathan Little and the small blind saw a flop of {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Little bet 600 which was called by the small blind. The turn was the {7-Hearts}. Little bet 1,700, and the small blind called. On the river, the {8-Spades} fell. Little made a 4,000 chip bet which the small blind called. Little showed {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for sevens full and the small blind showed {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for two pair. After this pot Little moved up to approximately 23,000 in chips.

Sartori Wins Again

Tom Sartori is involved in another pot, this time with local Fred Sigur. With a pot approaching 10,000 in chips, the board comes {K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. On the last round of betting, Sartori fires out 6,000, and Sigur goes into the tank for several minutes before conceding the hand.

At the dinner break, Sartori had less than 7,000 in chips. Things weren't looking good, and just after dinner, he lost the first pot he played to drop to a dangerously low 3,000. However, in the last few minutes, Sartori has come charging back and is now the owner of a healthy stack of chips -- 28,000 worth of them, in fact -- at the expense of his fellow tablemates.

Sartori Knocks One Out

With two limpers plus the small and big blind in an unraised pot, the flop comes down {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Tom Sartori checks, and the big blind pushes his last 6,850 in chips to the center. Edward Sabat and Fred Sigur both fold, but Sartori obliges with the call. The big blind turns over {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, while Sartori shows the {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The turn and river come {8-Spades} and {Q-Spades} respectively, and the all-in player is eliminated. Tom Sartori continues to increase his stack, and is now up around 23,000.

Championship Distractions?

A large contingent of locals entered today's event -- many of them sporting New Orleans Hornets jerseys in support of their hometown basketball team, which is currently playing in its own championship event of sorts.

After the dinner break, the AV crew here at Harrah's changed the channels on the two largest television monitors in the room, removing the tournament clock's feed and replacing it with the game.

Psh...Who cares about a $5,000 buy-in poker tournament when Game 7 is on?!
