After a level of, in his words, "getting extremely unlucky," Giovanni Marcacci stated "Whatever, I'm ready to get on a plane and go home." A few moments later, a clearly frustrated Marcacci later reminded us, "I was down to 3500 in Tunica and came back to almost win that," hinting that he has not given up just yet.

Another Day at the Office

Giovanni Marcacci is another notable with his eyes on the final table of today's event. Marcacci has picked up $140,500 in career earnings, all of which have come from WSOP circuit events. Most recently, Marcacci finished in third place at the WSOP-C Tunica event for a career-best $129,760 payday.

The Venue

Opened is 1986 as the Bluffs Run Greyhound Park, the Horseshoe Casino is now a Harrah's property near the Missouri River in the Omaha suburb of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Boasting over 88,000 square feet of gaming space, including table games, slots, and the dog racing for which it got its start, the Horseshoe is one of a handful of casinos in the area which have grown to thrive in the wake of recent liberalization of Iowa gaming laws.
